What Guests Are Saying
Waitsboro Campground offers beautiful views of Lake Cumberland, with many sites providing privacy and spaciousness. The campground is well-maintained, with clean restrooms and friendly staff, although some visitors noted issues with the steep inclines and inconvenient dump station access. Overall, guests enjoyed their stays and appreciated the scenic location, despite some minor frustrations.

This was our 4 summer camping at site 8, by far the best site in our opinion, we are hopeful that they will reconstruct the steps that lead to the bank and water.

The pictures make you believe the water is close to the site but it is not. Best case it’s at least a 50 yard down hill hike over rocks and fallen trees. Trash and debris around the campground and shore line, and I mean lots. The only inviting or even remotely friendly campground staffer was the younger guy taking out bathroom trash. Lake Cumberland is great just not this site. I’ve never left a written review on anything and have camped a minimum of twice a year but most years 3 for the past 6 years at various campgrounds from Lake Berryessa to Lake Greenwood with the kids, this was the most disappointing . The choice is yours but I felt obligated when I got the email asking my opinion.
I had two sites so copy and pasted. I also remember only one site had parking.

Campgrounds are excellent.
The shower house could use some attention. Better lighting on the outside. Cleaner showers .

My family has ALWAYS camped at Waitsboro, the main guy has always been hateful but we have looked over it until now. While camping my dad got several sick, I kept the campground updated as I passed in and out of the campground going to and from the hospital. The day of leaving we was breaking down the campsite/ cleaning, in the middle of doing so I got the call my dad passed away. The others who was camping with us finished packing everything up, they was under the impression the campground picked up the trash (ONE tied up trash bag) as we was saying our final goodbyes at the hospital the hateful man called saying he was sending a citation for the bag of trash, he was very nasty about it. I had to leave the hospital and take the trash off. For one, he knew my dad just died he could have put it on the side by side and taken it to the dumpster (I didn’t even know they had dumpsters). For two the nasty attitude was uncalled for. The disrespect spoke loud. I’ll never be back, it’s not about the trash bag, it’s about the disrespect.

We were pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to find the campgrounds so close to Somerset and how very beautiful it was. Almost every campsite is overlooking beautiful Lake Cumberland and the sites were a nice size and most pretty private. We were located at #7 and while #6 was next to us, there was a privacy fence. The bathroom was just up the hill from us and was very clean with flush toilets. I noticed that it was cleaned everyday that we were there. While there is a boat ramp when you come into the campgrounds, there is no real place to swim or safely walk down to the water from the campsites. Some campsites were only for tents. We had to drive 20 minutes to find the closest place to swim. There wasn't much grass for walking the dog. The cost was low. We had a delightful time and will return.

Beautiful campground with an amazing view!
The only negative comment we have was the signage. There needs to be clear signs showing the campground. Pulling a big fifth wheel and making a wrong turn can be frustrating.
