Always a great time at Callie's and the kids have a blast. It's nice to be able to swim in the lake and they have a small beach area (little cold when we went, but that's what you get camping in May) and being able to fish in other parts. There's a nice playground by the lake as well.
Love the little store with a few necessities in case of emergencies, some souvenirs and also great food! Shower house is nice but only a couple available (one shower was broken unfortunately) so there was a little wait for showers depending on when you went.
My only "complaint" would be that the sites could be marked a little better as far as which site the table/yard belongs in. The water sticker and electric box mark them and not everyone realizes that, unfortunately. I didn't have much of a yard due to a tent that was in my yard instead of theirs, and they took my picnic table in front of their tent to use. Thankfully they only stayed one night and I was able to get the table back in my yard the next day before a camper pulled in. I was with a large group and we cooked at other sites, so it wasn't a huge deal for me other than figuring out the best spot to put my dog's lead so she didn't go in either of my neighbor's yards.
There are a few full hookup sites and quite a few with water & electric. It's easy to dump upon leaving as well. There are 2 spots to dump, as well as a spot to dump grey water.

Nice place to camp and to explore the area. Very friendly staff! Since couple things we wanted to do in the area, we able leave our dogs and they were safe.
They had nice setup for restaurant and store, but we not eat there. They had speciality pork bbq on the weekends, so we miss it.

The people here are super nice and the food is really good. They do charge extra for the wifi. We did enjoy our stay here, enough that we came back a couple weeks later when we were in the area again, however, the second time around it had snowed and that's where the access issues come into play. The driveway up is pretty steep, and when things are normal it's not much of an issue but once it snowed, I couldn't make it back up the hill, and got stuck, and slid back down the hill in my truck and trailer. It was scary. But one of the guys came out and helped me out thankfully!!

Callie’s is our favorite place to camp in Red River Gorge, and we've been coming back for years. There are tons of tent camping spots, so it rarely feels overcrowded and it’s easy to find a peaceful spot with plenty of room to spread out. The entire campground is extremely clean, from the bathrooms to the grounds, and it's completely safe walking around at all hours.
The staff is genuinely friendly, the kind of people who go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. On top of all that, the pricing is very reasonable.
