We drove all the way from Sulphur as first-time RV buyers, and it was absolutely worth the trip. We had been searching for 8 months to a year before finally making our purchase this weekend, and the experience couldn’t have been better.
Derek, the sales manager, went above and beyond to share his advice, tips, and insight about RV ownership. Mike, the technician, was just as wonderful — patient, knowledgeable, and made sure we understood everything before we left. Patrick was also extremely professional and friendly, and his help made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.
All three of them were incredibly down-to-earth and never once made us feel pressured. They truly wanted to make sure we were 100% confident and happy with our purchase. My husband and I agreed that if we had gone anywhere else, we would’ve had no clue what to do without all the knowledge and guidance they gave us.
We are extremely happy with our RV and so grateful for the entire team at Gauthier’s. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for an honest, friendly, and professional group to help you find the right RV, we wouldn’t recommend anyone other than Gauthier’s RV Center.

My husband & I purchased a camper from here just about 1 month ago.
SALES: Our salesman Brandon was very polite, kind, & most importantly — not pushy at all! He was able to answer all of our questions that we had and respected us when we told him we weren’t ready to buy anything quite yet. After a few weeks, we returned to Gauthiers to buy our new camper and he immediately recognized us and was happy to assist us. He was so patient with us while we decided which camper we wanted to buy, we took around 4 hours to make our selection and he patiently waited on us. If you decide to buy a camper from here, we highly recommend going to Brandon!
TRADE- IN: Our trade-in offer was much lower than expected and much lower than any other offer we had been given at various dealerships & private buyers. However, we did ultimately decide to accept their offer due to our limited amount of time to buy a camper and convenience. To go along with that, they were also not willing to drop the price of our new camper which was expected since it had been marked down already. However, in today’s world everybody has to make a dollar somehow so we still felt that they were treating us fairly & we were willing to pay the price for the right camper. I do feel like smaller dealerships like Gauthiers may not be able to give the best trade-in value or come down on price as drastically as some bigger dealerships but their willingness to help and mannerisms do make up for that! I’d rather support local small business than big corporations.
FINANCE: We worked with Patrick, he was straightforward, polite, & respectful. Even though we had to mail some paperwork and wait on it to be signed & returned the process was still seamless and as easy as possible. He was accommodating to our situation and was great with communicating to let us know what was happening in terms of paperwork and getting the loan approved.
AFTER PURCHASING / SERVICE DEPARTMENT: Upon purchasing our new camper, our fridge started making a very loud & obnoxious noise. Come to find out the freezer could not regulate temp properly for some reason and kept freezing up which was causing the fan to get jammed. It was a constant battle of wondering if it was going to give out. We contacted Gauthiers to get a replacement fridge since our camper is only one month old and brand new 2025. We were told 2/3 weeks ago that their service department was contacting forest river to get a replacement. After 2 weeks of hearing absolutely nothing, we started calling to see when our fridge would be here. The service department lady was out and unable to be reached so we were in contact with about 5 different people who would tell us “I don’t know anything about a fridge, what’s your name and number and I’ll call you back”— to which we got zero calls back! After waiting for days on a call back, I finally demanded some answers as we are not from Louisiana and live in our camper full time, we could be leaving LA at the drop of a hat for work. Finally somebody told me that our fridge had arrived and they would install it next week (this happened on a Friday). The following Monday I hadn’t heard anything so I called back to speak to the owner. He did confirm that we would be getting our new fridge the next day. Fast forward to today, 2 gentleman arrived to install our fridge and it was not the correct fridge that our camper came with. Thankfully, it was just 1/2 inch smaller so it still fit our camper. It is not as fancy as our original fridge but as long as it works we are happy— it fits & it looks nice so we count it as a win! The 2 men that installed it were absolutely fantastic, they were polite, kind, respectful, & even offered to fix a few things that weren’t perfect with our camper. Although I don’t remember their names (I think one of them was Mike) they both went above & beyond. We are thankful that they took such great care of us and fixed the issues we were having.
Overall, our experience buying a camper from Gauthiers was great. They resolved our issue and have treated us well. We recommend them!

If you are a first-time RV buyer or looking to upgrade, I strongly recommend considering Gauthiers. We nearly made a purchase from Camping World, but ultimately decided to drive several hours to Gauthiers, and we are incredibly pleased with that choice. When I reached out, I had the pleasure of speaking with Derek, the Sales Manager. This gentleman guided me through the entire process, and everything he shared was honest and not just a sales pitch. In fact, after the sale, he personally delivered a new weight distribution hitch to me in Metairie. Who does that? It was first-class service all the way. We genuinely could not be happier, and if you are in the market, I sincerely hope you give these folks a call.

Derek Lamaire was the main reason I made the purchase because of his knowledge and understanding that this was a big decision.
I have only had it out on a short trip once because time but will be going out again soon. My dogs and I love the Geo Pro!
