Gryphon's Nest Campground

It's such a Spiritual & Scared Place. Cliff the owner is so Lovely. I've always felt at home there. I've been there off n on off through the years. It will always be my Second Home.

We have had so many great events at Gryphons nest! We found it to be a very inclusive space that allows us to host amazing events bringing together all of our friends for a great time. We’re hosting there this weekend and can’t wait to get over there to decorate and set up. The pool, hot tub, and club house with kitchen, social space, bedroom, a loft that sleeps 10 comfortably but easily more than that and huge bathrooms with showers and toilets makes camping so much fun! Over the last 3 years I have been to and hosted many events at the gryphons nest. This space has always been incredibly inclusive and welcoming to everyone I’ve attended the space with, people of all gender, sexuality, race and religion. There are plenty of amenities and just in General a great energy. I look forward to hosting many future events at GN! The place is a bargain for all that you get. It’s well used and well loved and that shows. Camping is munch more fun in the south when you have AC and bathrooms/showers and a kitchen available!

I rented the space with my family for a weekend. The rooms are filled with roaches. The pool wasn't clean and worst of all, I woke up with the owner looking through the window watching me and my family sleeping! We left a day earlier than we reserved. Aside from that. The location is beautiful.

The owner has a lot of deferred maintenance that needs attention. The pool was not cleaned and ready for use. And was not adequately cleaned throughout the weekend. The hot tub was not turned on for daily use. The air conditioning has no temperature regulation, only off or on. The pavilion has not been completed for several years. The toilet door locks have been broken for years. Most importantly, the owner carries no property/liability insurance! When asked about that, he states it's too expensive and is cheaper to pay a medical claim then insurance. So he is now asking event producers to add him to their event insurance, without him paying a portion of that cost. He also inserts himself into the events without getting prior permission, especially creating unsafe space for women in the pool. The free range chickens have caused damage to private tents.
