We stayed here recently and were pretty disappointed with the experience. The campsites are extremely small and packed in with no trees or privacy between sites, which made it feel more like a parking lot than a campground.

Quiet time is enforced far too strictly (for some) — While we were reprimanded just minutes after quiet hours began, seasonal guests nearby were up past midnight, keeping a fellow camper and her three kids awake. She tried calling the front office three separate times and no one answered — so it seems the strict rules only apply selectively.

The playground is also a letdown — it’s just a few Little Tikes plastic structures, which are really only suitable for toddlers. Definitely not enough to entertain most kids.

There also seems to be a clear divide between how seasonal guests are treated versus short-term campers. The rules and attitudes didn’t feel consistent or fair. On top of that, the on-site store is overpriced — nearly $7 for a small bundle of wood — and they even charge extra for internet access.

One of the most frustrating things was checkout. They schedule the only bathroom to be cleaned from 10–11am — the same time everyone is trying to pack up and leave. Not exactly convenient planning.

Honestly, they might want to consider renaming the place from a "family campground" to a "seasonal campground" because that's clearly the focus. We won’t be returning.

**Edit: My review is not misleading and I'm only speaking about the truth of the playground, the lot sizes , the store and the nickel and diming that you do. Also you might want to check in and talk to your seasonal members about any marijuana because they were smoking it and handing it out.

I feel like I have found a precious jewel, right here in Maine by the name of Littlefield Beaches Lakeside Campground! After I got my campsite, I started to feel very lucky that I did as the campground is so popular that people book year after year and a year in advance just to make sure they can camp here. I’ve walked around this campground many times for exercise and cannot believe how peaceful and calm and beautiful it is. The campsites are quite large, I have a 40 foot motorhome and I know for a fact I could put two on the same site. The place is kept immaculate as when you see somebody pulling out after their stay a crew comes in almost immediately to rake clean And reposition things for the next camper. They have a They have an unbelievable laundry building here with several machines and price is cheaper than any other campground I’ve stayed at. And as for the bathhouses, they are so clean and nice, my wife won’t even shower in the motorhome she uses the bath houses. The lake is clean and the beach is absolutely fantastic. Children are able to play with complete safety, many children playing in the water at the beach and yet plenty of room left for an older couple like us to enjoy the beach and the water. Parents are expected to take care of their children, and they do unlike some campgrounds. I have visited campgrounds that just let children run amok. The services here are absolutely fantastic, the store has everything you could possibly need and is clean as a pin. Yes you may pay a little bit more than driving 25 miles to Walmart, but the convenience is well worth it. Many of the sites that are down close to the water as per main state law do not have sewer, hook ups, so they have a pump truck available to you three times a week for a pump out or even the same day you need it with advanced notice. Oh, and the pump outs are cheap. I often say when reviewing a campground that I meet the nicest campers and they are so friendly, and it is always true, and it is true at this campground as well, however, at this campground, the staff are equally as nice and friendly! As I said in the beginning I truly believe I have found a gem of a campground right here in Greenwood, Maine. And yes, I have already renewed for next year and I’m hoping to get even more time. Don’t take my word for it, come and see for yourself.

Great location, bad experience. The beach is beautiful, water pretty clear, nice view of the mountains. But the campsites are horribly small. You’re practically stacked up on each other. No breathing space or room for privacy. The rules were extreme, was yelled at for being a little too loud 5 mins after “quiet time”, but the next night Seasonal campers were out talking, and laughing loud up to 11:30. Like they knew when staff went home and could no longer be notified of loud campers. The seasonal campers are given top priority. And once I told the owner about the noise level, he acted like they could do no wrong. No apologies, and I bet they weren’t even talked to. The owner nickel and dimes for everything, and you can tell only in it for the money. He’s taken over new ownership in 2018, but has yet to make many upgrades. Bathroom is small and moldy. There’s only 3 toilets and 1 shower for a big campground. And the worst part, check out is at 11am and check in is at 1pm, and a young girl was cleaning the bathroom at 10am and wouldn’t allow us to go to the bathroom before we leave. She said she’d be done cleaning in 25mins when we had 4 kids with us who needed to go urgently. We left and came back and she said we couldn’t go because she was about to mop. We begged her to let us go before she mops and refused and gave us a bad attitude. It doesn’t make any sense to clean at that time when all the guests haven’t checked out yet. Cleaning time should be between 11am-1pm. When we let the owner know upon check out. He didn’t apologize he said they have another bathroom which was a far walk in the opposite direction. Didn’t care that he inconvenienced us at all. Will not be returning to this campground ever again! Poor management, not worth dealing with for the view!

Doug and I have been coming to Littlefield for 8 years. This year we were lucky enough to have 2 weeks on site 19, typically we only go for 1 week. We enjoyed every minute of swimming, boating, fires . The only thing that was disappointing was the three large pontoon boats moored right in front of our site that blocked the beautiful lake and mountain views. These boats were never used the whole 2 weeks we were there. We look forward to returning Labor Day and of course 2 weeks next summer. Thanks Scott and Cindy for keeping the campground so clean and being the owners of this beautiful campground we have no desire to go anywhere else 😃
