It has taken me far too long to post a review. I stayed at Riverbend from July 19th to Aug 10th 2025. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything. I randomly chose Riverbend off a spur of the moment Google search. I'm so happy I ended up in Biddeford. At the time I was struggling with alcohol. The staff and ownership took care of me. They fed me when I wasn't eating. Checked in on me. God I'm appreciative. Campground is awesome. The goats are awesome! Therapeutic for sure. I just want to thank Erin, Cody, April and Peter for their kindness and support. I haven't had a drink since Aug 10, 2025. My trip there happened for a reason. Go to Riverbend for the scenery and peacefulness but more important go for the staff. They treat folks right.

Although our stay was short, we absolutely loved staying at Riverbend Retreat. A young man (I didn't catch his name unfortunately) helped us check and he explained the house rules in great detail. He was very polite and provided a good overview of everything. The owners, Bryce and Amanda, came to our campsite to introduce themselves and asked for feedback about the campgrounds. They were warm, friendly, and accommodating. The site was reasonably priced and very clean. We also met Erin, the resident goat girl, who cares for the goats on the property. An added bonus was that you can pay (only 25¢) to feed the goats and interact with them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back if we find ourselves venturing through that area again. Thank you Amanda, Bryce, Erin, and the young man who checked us in!

Spent a lovely evening at Riverbend retreat. Was guided to our campsite and provided with a very nice space, I only wish I would have been able to find where the water spigot was. River was lovely to swim in and the atmosphere of the campgrounds was quite relaxing. Bathrooms were fairly clean and there were a lot of activities on the grounds to keep people busy. Overall would recommend!

Nature or animal lover even tree hugger with its living sense of early homestead American history this is the place that ticked all our boxes. My husband and I found this absolute treasure with its collection of resident animals some who have been rescued living on this picturesque campground with the Saco river snaking it's way all around. The owners Ruth & Chris King give it a welcoming authentic family feel running it for 20 years as a labour of absolute love. Not many gems like it anywhere.
