It is conveniently located near Acadia National Park, making it an ideal spot for exploration, while features like riverfront sites and stargazing opportunities enhance the experience. Absolutely loved this campground! It was quiet, peaceful, clean, restrooms spotless and staff was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. My son loved the pool and pedal boat. Shore access area was stunning. Hookups are a little awkward and dated but workable.

This is a fantastic campground located very close to Acadia National Park. It was previously known as HTR Acadia Somes Sound Campground but is now under new management and renamed Quarry Ledge. If you can’t find a spot on recreation(dot)gov, definitely check this place out. Here are my observations:

Pros
- Utilities: Most sites have both electricity and water (unless otherwise noted). The riverfront sites are a short walk away and don’t have electric hookups.
- Clean Facilities: Bathrooms and restrooms are spotless and well maintained.
- Wi-Fi Access: Free, campground-wide Wi-Fi (no password) is available—very handy in emergencies.
- Big-Rig Friendly: Even large Class A RVs like Brinkley models can fit through the back entrance. The office staff will guide and escort you to your site if needed.
- Stargazing Spot: There’s a small quarry in the center with an unobstructed sky view—perfect for stargazing at night.
- Amazing Staff: Special thanks to Lisa at the office for her kindness! She offered to watch our 10-month-old Golden Retriever when he got nervous around the beach so we could enjoy kayaking.

Cons
- Small Tent Sites: Tent sites are on the smaller side compared to other campgrounds, though fine if your setup isn’t too large.
- Tight Spacing: Sites are close together—only about 5 feet between them. If you have early-to-bed neighbors, noise can be an issue. (We had a neighbor ask us to lower our mini speaker even at half volume, while others had outdoor TVs without issue.)
- Porta Potty Design: Porta potties are available throughout the campground but are old-style models without closing caps on the septic tank, making them a bit uncomfortable to use.
- Slow Wi-Fi: The free Wi-Fi slows down significantly when the campground is full, especially on weekends, with many RVs streaming movies.

Stayed here for about a week on one of the deluxe platforms and it was great. The bathrooms were clean, the amenities were cool, and the office was nice. It's a little aways from Acadia and doesn't have a bus stop so we just ended up parking at the welcome center and taking the bus, which was about a 20 minute drive away. But it was worth it and the price was great.

We are just arriving home from spending 9 nights at Quarry Ledge. We went in our Grand Design travel trailer and had the best experience.

Our site was private and the accommodations were immaculate. The campground is so pretty with a quarry and even an oceanfront view a few steps away!

We can't say enough for the staff, especially Analee. She was so kind, helpful, patient AND even helped us empty our tanks because it was our first RV experience! We hope to be back next summer!

We had a great experience at the HTR Acadia Campground. It was located near Acadia National Park, making it easy to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. This was the 10th campground we stayed at during a 3-week road trip, and we were not disappointed. The bathrooms were clean with hot water, and our check-in instructions (even though we arrived after hours) were clear. We would stay here again if we come back to Acadia National Park.
