What Guests Are Saying

Sun Retreats at Wild Acres offers great customer service, with staff promptly returning lost items and maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The campground is well-located, close to beaches and local attractions, with various activities available on-site. However, some guests noted issues with RV site proximity, noise from a nearby train, and cleanliness in certain areas, which may affect the experience for some visitors.

Had a family gathering. The cabin was awesome and the service was great. My granddaughter left her glasses behind and they called right away and offered to mail them. Thanks for the great customer service. Very close to local beaches and there's also a trolley that runs everywhere. 5 star rating from me.

My family and I had a great time here - with a couple caveats people might want to know. 6 of us (1 child) rented a pet friendly cabin and 4 more (2 adults, 2 kids) had an RV site. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our cabin was nice and in a quiet corner of the park (aside from the train). Floors were a bit dirty but otherwise clean and comfortable and well equipped. It was nice to have a comfy place for the dogs to hang out while we went to the beaches and such. Location was nice with easy access to the beach (parking lot with short walk), several pools and hot tubs, fishing pond, trails, bouncy things for the kids and more.

Now for the caveats. The RV and tent sites are extremely close together with no trees for privacy. There is also a train that runs frequently (including through the night) and quite close to the sites. They cater mostly to seasonal folks so there are more permanent type setups (owned cabins, RVs, decorations) than short vacationers so it feels a bit more like a small town than a campground. For our purposes these downsides didn't take away from our enjoyment and we had a good time for our 4 night stay but I don't feel it would be fair not to mention these as it may not be the right experience for everyone.

To top it off our 9 year old left her glasses in the cabin and they called us and offered to ship them back before we even noticed they were missing - and at no cost! Excellent customer service.

It is a very nice campground. Good location and close to downtown. It has a shuttle you can take to downtown. The campground also has a lot of things to do on property.

Have been coming here for many years. This year reserved a cottage for a 2 night stay, full payment was required up front. Had a conflict arise, called them 10 days prior to the reservation date and was advised they would retain the full amount for the two night and resort fee and there were no options. Emailed the main office, no response. After yearly visits for many years will look elsewhere.

RV sites are within touching distance from one another. Their “quiet hours” are nonexistent and the bathrooms are putrid.
Brought our family, (4 adults and 2 children) from VT as we heard good things about this place, but we ended up leaving TWO DAYS EARLY as it was an awful experience.
To top it off, we couldn’t even hook up our septic and water hoses as the sewage pipe inlet was bent and as it rained, the campsite ended up being a pond.

Completely disappointed!!
