This place used to be kind of a rundown campground but I returned for the first time in years recently and was shocked to see how much it has changed for the better. Much cleaner and overall just a better family friendly vibe. To that point, during our stay the campground had several events including a circus performer which the kids and adults both loved. There is a nice little store that was stocked with an assortment of essentials plus fun little toys and candy for the kids. We had a great time and can't wait to go back. Couldn't recommend this place enough. If you haven't been in the last few years come back and check it out.

We had been meaning to get out to Honey Run since new ownership took over last year. Our family stayed for 3 nights last week and it exceeded all of our expectations. It is clear that the owners take great pride in providing a quality experience for their campers. We are veterans of state park campgrounds and have always enjoyed the no-frills feel of those type of campgrounds with increased privacy. So we were a little hesitant going to a private campground as we were not looking for that packed in like sardines, loud, over the top experience. That is not what we found at all, we had our own private space, we could see our neighbors but our family (wife and I, couple of middle school aged boys and an excitable labradoodle) our own space. The beach was across the road and was wonderful to cool down at with a sandy bottom, swim area and swimming platform, the beach was not busy at all, our boys loved kayaking and fishing as well on the quiet pond. The owners were friendly and welcoming, every staff member we encountered was warm and helpful. They have a beautiful shaded pavilion with picnic tables, a spacious field where my boys and I played soccer and bucket golf, a pickleball court and an arcade. We are already looking forward to returning next summer for a longer stay and will attempt to bring friends.
