Located in Mansfield, it's convenient to Boston and Providence. As an adult, my first experience at Canoe River was excellent. The campground is well kept, the pools (there are two) are kept in pristine condition, the staff is pleasant and responsive. I think there is a function room above the bath house that can be used, looks a good sized. I stayed here out of necessity and was pleasantly surprised. The store has anything you would need, even a phone booth where you can make free local calls. I was downtrodden, and was able to stack wood for extra cash. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone. Bring quarters for laundry and shower, and remember drying clothes is the expensive part - .25 for six minutes.

Regardless of the time of night /morning, I was told I could go to the desk and pay and get an access card after I got off of work. Which was 2 AM, The fact that someone answered and then proceeded to question whether or not I was aware of what time it is, seems more confrontational than welcoming and hospitable. š¤·āāļøAs Iām in a full uniform and just drove 45 minutes to this location at this time of the morning. Not going to be spoken down to with a facetious line of questioning, by someone at 2:30 in the morning.

Extremely run down camp ground. Seasonal sites taking over every site and look like junk yards. Dogs are loose. Tiny sites on top of eachother. People in store do not care.
We got there, they had us at a site that was already booked. We then moved two sites down, couldnāt set up until I moved the seasonals chairs, dog ties and toys, cigarettes on our picnic tables. Still couldnāt set up bc a boulder on the site. Luckily we had an additional site for a friend who was no longer coming so we moved over there. The desk didnāt care at all or offer to refund our unable to be used site. When I tried to talk to them about how bad it was she was very argumentative. Yuck!

We are camping here now. Upon arriving there was difficulty with check in because the credit card machine wasnāt working. We were given two tent sites and when we got to the sites we realized that they were adjacent to a very smelly dumpster. I called the office and they said the dumpster is being picked up tomorrow, however that doesnāt help us with the smell (rotten fish) today.
I visited the bathhouse and the toilet leaked from the tank when I flushed it. There was no soap in the bathrooms. There was also trash strewn about outside the bathhouse. The potable water source in the tenting area is dirty and old. I will not wash my dishes there.
Overall Iād say that the campground is filthy and we are only continuing to stay here due to the proximity of the Xfinity Center.
The location is great. The commuter rail to Boston is located in the same town and itās 10 minutes from Xfinity Center. I also liked the fire pits.
I would not recommend this campground. Spend the extra money and go to Normandy Farms in Foxboro.

Awesome experience! We loved it here. We stayed 2 night in 2 sites for tent camping and had a blast. Staff was very helpful, super friendly and extremely understanding. The pool was clean and well kept, the store had most of the things we forgot to bring with us. The bathrooms were a little dirty but what can you expect with so many people camping and using them. Overall awesome experience, we are definitely coming back! 9/10
