Roverpass enables same-day reservations past 6pm. Do NOT do this unless you know this campground. I arrived after dark and could not see anything. No one answers the phone past closing time, nor will they return calls. I parked out in front of the office and stayed there for the night. I can't say what the campground was like, but I can tell you the front of the park is clean and nicely lit. The road is quiet. No one bothers you. In fact, no one ever acknowledged my presence and I left the next morning after no one opened the office at the time listed on their website.

We stayed at Indianhead during the Levitate Music Festival and could not have been happier.
Tina and her staff were extremely responsive and informative. Our site was absolutely beautiful. On the day of our arrival they offered live music and a food truck. The store had the necessities, as well as a slushy machine and ice cream novelties.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some kids may be accustomed to at the larger resorts, but for us, who appreciate the beauty and serenity of nature, it was perfect.

My kids would have rated it lower but there are a few pros to this place. If I wasn't with 4 kids that are used to camp grounds with more amenities it probably would have been fine. We were in a tent not that close to a bathroom but with family that had a camper so we used their bathroom most of the time.
PROS
- it's quite
- Sites are big. We have a 12 person tent and it's huge. We still had space for our car and to play games
- basketball court and volley ball court
- small store with camp basics but no extras

CONS
- the "swimming area" is kind of a joke. The pond is better for fishing than anything else. We didn't rent a canoe but probably would have if the weather was nicer while we were there.
- there are only 2 parking spots at the "beach" and when your site isn't close it can be a hike. And uphill.
- the playground could some some updating. Its just swings, a sand pit and a climbing thing. Maybe cool for a toddler but not really for older kids.
- the basketball hoop could be replaced. It can still be used but it's falling apart.

Again, my kids have been spoiled with snack shakes, ice cream, arcades and nice ponds so this was not ideal for kids that are used to that. And it didn't help that it rained a lot when we were here so it made not having those to other amenities more obvious.

But if you like the rustic camping and just want a tent in the woods, then you will be fine here!

My theory on the bad reviews: you know when a place is so awesome. You don’t want everyone in the world to find it… like that secret spot in the middle of paradise and if a hundred people showed up it would suck… this campground is that spot. The sites are huge, private, peaceful and beautiful . We walked the roads for an hour and didn’t see half the campground. The staff are friendly and helpful and the sites have full hookups. I never want to leave.

After reading all the reviews I thought I would give this place a shot anyway. The campsites are nice and clean, plenty of tress, when we went it was not that crowded but if it was crowded you would be on top of each other. I would book online where you can pick your spot and make sure there is plenty of space around you. The beach swimming area is very small, if there is more than one group there is hardly enough room to swim. If you are there by yourself is very peaceful. Pond was nice -we rented a kayak and paddled around for a couple of hours and tried some fishing, not sure if there are many fish in this pond, we didn't find any. The bathrooms are pretty rough - doors are broken, some of the sinks don't work, toilets hard to flush, the drains in the showers don't drain very well. I don't expect much from a campground bathroom but this was not acceptable. The store is very basic, plenty of wood though. The playground looked like it was from the 80s - my kids had never seen a see-saw before!
