Very helpful host! Good location right next to Boyne Mountain and 10 minutes from downtown Boyne City. Bathrooms were very clean. Nice small and quiet campground.

We really appreciate the great service and time we had at Boyne Cty RV Park and Campground. The area is quiet and conveniently close to town.
It was a pleasure meeting Terry and he was there to help and greet us at the site too.
The online registration was very helpful and I appreciated the ease of the check-in process.

I’m honestly not sure how to rate this campground. The host was very kind, welcoming, and full of helpful information, and I want to acknowledge that upfront. However, several issues made the experience frustrating.
I made the reservation and paid in full back in February 2026, but two days before my stay I received a call asking for my card number to pay the remaining balance. Though I did my best to confirm through bank statements I don’t have a remaining balance. By the time the host realized I had in fact already paid, I had been charged a second time. My card was already on file which should have been the first clue I already paid but here we are. While I did receive confirmation of a refund, (yet to be back in my account) it was still an inconvenient since refunds aren’t instant. In addition, when I booked I specifically chose a site that could accommodate our 20‑foot trailer and included water and electric hookups. Not only did we not have water, but I’m almost certain we were placed in a tent‑only site and the electric we used was for the site next to us. I could barely get the camper in and out. Meanwhile, about 25 RV‑appropriate sites were occupied by tents. I asked if we could move one site over because it would have fit our camper better, but I was told I’d be charged extra since the host had already rearranged people and someone was arriving for that reserved site later that day. That site remained empty the entire time we were there. I will admit we did get to the camp late our first night due to work and the drive but that is the whole point of making a reservation in advance. If I reserve a spot you would think I would get that spot, not be told we had to juggle things around and this is what’s left.
The campground itself was fine—there were bathrooms and showers, and it wasn’t the worst experience. We just needed a place to sleep. But had I known we wouldn’t be able to use the main features of our camper, I wouldn’t have hauled it all the way there. From what I gathered, the website is run by one person and the host manages the phones and sites, and the two don’t seem to communicate well.
Again, the host was a genuinely nice person, but the overall setup felt disorganized. If you’re tent camping, I’d give this place a 10/10. If you have a camper under 20 feet, it might work, but it’s a gamble whether you’ll get a suitable site. Anything over 20 feet—good luck.

This is a hidden gem for folks who enjoy smaller campgrounds with a human touch and loads of charm. Terry was an excellent host, very kind and welcoming. He shares a love of rock hounding and is a wealth of knowledge for local rocks and minerals. We will definitely be back!
