What Guests Are Saying
Riverside Park Campground features welcoming camp hosts and a beautiful setting by the Muskegon River, with a clean environment and a great splash pad. However, some guests experienced noise disturbances from nearby construction and lawn care, as well as issues with soggy sites and picnic table availability. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, many visitors appreciate the campground's charm and friendly atmosphere.

One of the most relaxing campgrounds you will stay at. The river sites are literally, right up to the Muskegon River! Camp host is very friendly and accommodating.

Splash pad was great! Camp host was amazing. Clean park and friendly people. 10 day max, otherwise seasonal. 5 stars for sure!

This place is a beautiful place to camp or so I thought my friend who's homeless call the city last summer*they camp there as well when they have the money* to explain that her and her family were homeless and just wanted to ask if they could use the shower WHICH IS PAID and the wonderful woman said that's fine they clean up after themselves and other people the workers hardy clean the shower on that side of the campground and one day my friend and her autistic brother went to shower there and the worker and her boyfriend came and asked if my friend know who was in the sh she said my autistic brother is and I'm sorry for the noise he was singing in the shower and the worker was offended by it then pretended it was okay after my friend explained why they used the shower gave her a Jesus loves you wristband and proceeded to call the city to change the code of the shower after just saying she understands and it fine to shower I think it's safe to say I won't be camping here again and I'll make sure to tell others about the fake people running the place

I will begin by saying that the camp hosts were very welcoming and a nice, kind couple. Otherwise, I was disappointed with the campground. Some of the problems I encountered are not the fault of the campground host or city.
-Unfortunately, all the local surrounding main roads are being resurfaced. So I could hear an incessant beep beep beep of the huge equipment all day. It started very early.
-On the second morning, I woke at 7:35 AM to a gas powered weed whip and leaf blowers less than 30 feet from my pop-up camper. The lawn care continued for several hours. I realize that lawn care needs to happen. But I think it might have been a better choice for the city to have started at the other end of the big park further away from sleeping campers as opposed to right next to my pop-up camper at 7:35 am.
-The new bathrooms and showers are very nice. Their construction, however, left a big dirt hill and lumpy areas of exposed soil half of which was on my campsite.
-Also, the entire back half of my site was soggy wet. The camp howt said it’s been like that all summer. Perhaps a “leak”. If I was in a bigger RV, I would not have been able to park there at all. (Site 2)
-I did not have a picnic table on my campsite. So on the second day, I requested the camp host bring me a table. The one I was brought was actually broken. But I was still able to sit on the bench without it falling apart.
-At approximately 1 AM, I heard loud people in the pavilion near my camp site. It made me nervous.
-I left my camping trip after two nights, even though I was scheduled for four. It just wasn’t a relaxing atmosphere for me, unfortunately.
-Positive: The river is very pretty as is the little creek alongside the campground. The camp hosts were nice.
