Otsego Lake County Park offers a beautiful lakeside location that many visitors appreciate, with some positive experiences highlighted by friendly and helpful staff like Alyssa. However, there are notable concerns regarding maintenance and cleanliness, particularly in the bathrooms and campsites, which have disappointed returning guests. While some had enjoyable experiences, such as family activities and supportive staff during boat ramp situations, several reviews indicate a decline in the park's upkeep that could affect future visits.

I have stayed at this campground 6 times in the last 5 years . This last time I stayed here it was not what we have become accustomed too at the county park . Everyday of our stay we had to remind the staff to add toilet paper to the bathrooms . Frankly the bathrooms were not cleaned well, or given the attention that they have got In years past. The showers were disgusting. The campsites where not groomed and our fire pits were not cleaned out, they were overflowing with ash . This campground was a great place to stay after our last stay we were disappointed. I seen staff driving around on a gator but no one got off the cart to do routine tasks. The garbage in the bathroom was overflowing everyday . I’m sorry I never left a good review for past experiences that were worthy of a good review . I guess we just came back as repeat customers. After our most recent experience at the dirty park , I’m choosing to leave a review and will look for another place to camp next time we are In The Gaylord area .

I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Alyssa, one of the park staff members who truly made our stay at Otsego County Park special. From the moment we arrived, she was friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to making sure everything ran smoothly.

She was so helpful with any questions we had and handled everything with such calm, capable energy. You can tell she takes pride in her work — the campground was well-maintained, and the kids’ activity she hosted was such a hit with our family! It was refreshing to see someone who not only enjoys what they do, but also does it so well.

Had an unfortunate situation as we approach the boat ramp, and Gavin was quick to add assistance and help me and son help move the boat out of the way. Thank you and I am confident with your service focus you have a bright future ahead of you.

Gorgeous place tainted by their wretched support of ICE. The PNR quotes “You have to like people to do this job,” Jim said, “and that is definitely her.” Referring to Mary.

Except if you’re brown, black, and anything other than white. Shameful, voted for someone who’s actively passing laws that will destroy the Great Lakes. Summer won’t be so fun when future generations don’t have a lake to camp on.

Such a shame, this place is home to me. Do better.
