Such a peaceful, friendly and easy to use campground. The park rangers were super helpful and gave us all the information we needed. Poison ivy everywhere and the threat of ticks didn't even ruin our experience! So grateful for really clean vault toilets and easy access to water and waste disposal.

Beautiful campground that's well maintained and well kept. Great location with walking trail directly to beach and the campground is also located right on the Heritage Trail. We also have a very positive experience with all of the staff at the campground. Everyone was very kind, knowledgeable and respectful. There isn't a single negative thing we could say about our stay and we'll definitely be back!

Beach was filled with flies, our spot was not very private, the rangers were a little rude, but it’s a really nice area. I am annoyed that they charged us $25 extra on top of our reservation just to access the campground. How does that make sense? Why can you reserve a spot and pay in full but still get hit with some BS park pass fee upon arrival?

THE LOCATION CAN'T BE BEAT, THERE IS A SHORT BOARDWALK TO LAKE MICHIGAN THAT IS DOG FRIENDLY. THE VAULT TOILETS WERE CLEAN(AS NICE AS THEY CAN BE!) TRAILS IN AREA-ALLIGATOR HILL,EMPIRE BLUFF, BAYVIEW HIKING TRAIL WERE FUN WITH SOME AWE INSPIRING VIEWS.

Everything is to love here: Lake Michigan is a short walk or bike trip from any campsite; D H Day is beautifully maintained; and the rangers and hosts are knowledgeable and friendly. The forested campground is shady, even on days the beach gets sun dawn to dusk. Glen Arbor is close, for any supplies— don’t miss Cottage Bookstore, Northwoods Hardware, Anderson’s Market—if you arrived with nothing, you could get everything you needed from these 3 places. You’ll hear the lake at night when all has gone quiet. This campground is an all-time favorite.

Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy is abundant at the campground and throughout the lakeshore. Tent pads and campsite driveways are kept clear of poison ivy. However there may be poison ivy lining the boundary of the campsite.
