Twin Bears Wooded Campground

Great location for all the fun activities this town has to offer. VERY CLEAN sites, bathrooms and showers. And VERY friendly staff. This was my first camping trip planned and executed as an adult myself with my children and niece, and this was an amazing time and we made great memories. We will definitely be coming back and will be recommending this campground to anyone who is looking for a clean, quiet place to get away! Loved it. Thank you for the great experience 🫶🏼

Great, friendly staff! Lots of activities that are included with your campsite including horse shoes, shuffle board, putt putt, and more! Pools heated in cold weather, bathrooms are very well taken care of. Retro/modern game room woth laundry. Concession stand had great, reasonable prices, lots of hand dipped ice cream flavors and accommodating staff! Will be returning!

We had a fantastic stay at Twin Bears Campground and will definitely be back!
The first thing that stood out was how incredibly clean and well maintained everything is. The bathrooms were spotless every morning, and the staff continued checking and cleaning them throughout the day. You can tell the owners take great pride in the campground—they’re on-site, visible, and actively involved every day, and every employee always seemed to be working to keep the property looking its best.
The campground is peaceful and family-friendly. Quiet hours are respected, speed limits are enforced, and it feels very safe for kids to ride their bikes throughout the park.
The amenities are excellent. The swimming pool is beautiful and very well maintained, the mini golf course is fun with just the right amount of challenge, and there’s a nice playground for younger kids. We also enjoyed the gemstone mining sluice, which was a big hit and a fun activity for families. Dog owners are well taken care of too, with several pet stations throughout the campground stocked with the nicest pet waste bags I’ve seen at any campground.
The camp store is well stocked, the ice cream was delicious, and the live music on Saturday evening made for a great atmosphere.
One of the best things about Twin Bears is its location. It’s tucked away in the woods, making it feel like a peaceful retreat, yet it’s just minutes from Indian River for boating, dining, and shopping. It’s also an easy drive to Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and St. Ignace, making it an ideal home base for exploring Northern Michigan.
If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, well-managed campground with friendly owners, excellent amenities, and a perfect location, Twin Bears Campground is hard to beat. Highly recommended! Great customer experience for all ages.

My husband and I stayed at Twin Bears Campground for 6 days and had an amazing time. The site was great, and the campground was peaceful and well kept.

The owners were one of the best parts of our stay. They were so welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived, and they checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well and that we had what we needed. It really made us feel at home.

It's clear they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in their campground. We had a great experience and will definitely be back. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

We booked a last-minute site at Twin Bears Wooded Campground over Mother's Day. The owners were not only immediately visible in the office as we walked in, but were also very kind and happy to chat with us about the area and answer our questions about the history of the campground and their new ownership of it. It was not crowded at all given we visited in early May. The site we had was spacious and clean and the bathrooms were also very clean. We enjoyed walking around the campground and you can tell they are actively working on updates and improvements. It's located just a few miles off I-75 with short and easy access to Indian River, Cheboygan and Onaway. We'll be back!
