One hundred acres of the best land michigan has to offer. A christian camp with all the bells and whistles. Pristine, spacious, and quiet camp sites for a tent, f
5th wheeler. Cabins that are not crammed together for families. Rooms available with bunk beds for a small group. Although I was in my name wheelchair, i was able to go anywhere.I needed to go on concrete. It is.
Completely ADA. Handicapped accessible. My quarters had a walk in shower. The gentleman that is in charge also is a graduate of grand rapids , culinary school of arts. It is rated in the top ten chef schools in the nation. He serves better food than many restaurants and is a lot cleaner. This by far is the best Christian camp.I have been blessed with. I just wanted to share it with you.

We spent last weekend at The Pines Campground and loved it! Highly recommend this great campground. The hosts were so friendly, the bathrooms/showers were great! Nice and woodsy lots. Nice lake to fish and canoe on. Great price and easy to make reservations. We’ll be back!

We attended the “Family Boardgame Retreat” and had an excellent time and would highly recommend. We ended up leaving early due to a family emergency but think this is a great backwoods family event we come to and support in the future.

I’ve added pictures below of what to expect as we weren’t quite sure how everything would look or operate.

AREA: You are really about 45 mins away from a major highway, and 15-20 mins away from any small town store or gas station. Lots of woods but is pavement.

KIDS: We brought our baby with and there’s enough room in the stand alone cabin to fit a playpen or crib, also a Johnny jumper works on molding between bunk room and bathroom.

CABINS/BUNKS: They have small and large bunkhouses, some are connected side by side and others are stand alone. Bunks have a waterproof mattress so you’ll need to bring your own blankets/pillows/sheets.
Simple lock on door for privacy. Working lights throughout cabin.
Some cabins are within 50 feet, others were 100ft away from parking lot area so plan accordingly for carrying and unpacking ( though staff were more than helpful in offering to carry our belongings). Outlets in cabin for charging( though cell phone reception was not the greatest).

AMENITIES: Running water for sink/shower/toilet. Some paper towel and toilet paper provided, plunger. (Food/cooking was provided at Canteen Cabin). Bring your own shampoo/soap/conditioner/washrags/towels. Bring your own shower shoes if you use them.
****Highly recommend indoor cabin shoes so you don’t track wet snow or mud on cabin floors***
Some hooks upon entry to hang your coats. Lined garbage can provided. Sweeper and dust pan provided. No AC that I know of, but cabins do have a thermostat for heat use.

OUTDOORS: with permission, there’s woods and outdoor activities planned when you need a break from a room full of tables and board gamers. You’re in the woods in nature so plan accordingly ( warm clothes, boots, bug spray, sun protection, tubes/sleds flashlight, etc). We always bring along our own first aid kit as well.

LEADERSHIP: For this event we had Beau in charge, as well as the Bragg family for operations and you couldn’t ask for a better or kinder group of people to emulate Christ and brotherly love. Very organized, laid back fun energy.
