Dune Town Camp-Resort

This place is now lawless 7/2026! People speed all the time, 4 wheelers and sxs with no plates riding around park, nobody on top row abides to the 1 way street. They drive from past bath house the wrong way. Then they gave me a hard time about my car tags but can't patrol thier own park to make it safe for kids,last year it was not like this. Plus we have not met or seen a camp host. I believe here name is Peggy and I think Michelle but they would come by a lot but none of that anymore, it makes it tough for us to spend a week here with our kids. It's a shame because it's a great location. Did the place get a new owner that they may only care about profit and no employees.

We have camped here twice this season and had a great experience each time. The campground and pool are clean and very kid friendly. Staff is amazing and so friendly!

The only thing I will mention, was the amount of kids on electric scooters not paying attention to their surroundings at time was frustrating.

Dunetown camp is a resort right downtown mears that is located very close to silver lake. The camp ground is moderate in size and is closely located to various souvenir shops and a restaurant called chicken shack. The wings there are very good. The amenities inside the camp ground were all available during our stay and the pool is pretty good sized, and was warm everyday we went. Our issue with the camp ground came from the campsite. I would say half of the camp sites are fairly level, while others were not even close, and took quiet a bit to get your trailer level due to the incline of the land. Make sure you bring enough leveling blocks. On our first day we noticed we could smell sewage, pretty often. We let it go thinking it might have to do with the plumbing coming off the seasonal camp sites behind us. On the second day we woke up and the smell was worse, so I decided to call and ask if it is normal to spend 600$ for 5 days and smell human feces the whole time. This led to a site visit from someone on the maintenance team. Followed by a visit from the “shift lead”. I was expecting their team to tell us the truth given they told us the sewage pit and basin was right across from our campsite. Instead they told us this has never been a issue and no one has ever complained about this before. I found this to be hysterical given we smelled sewage the entire time we were there. I would have expected to be able to move to a different site or be offered a partial or even full credit back for our stay given I smelled sewage every single day and it got worse as the days dragged on that we were there. By the last day I was feeling nearly sick from the smell of sewage while packing up our lot. This is unacceptable in my opinion. We will not be back, I will be sure to tell anyone else I know going to the area to go to the other resorts in the area due to how the dune town camp staff decided to handle this issue. Also they setup a foam party for the kids, which would have been a great idea if it wasn’t setup in the field right next the sewage tanks and in the field everyone walked their dogs to take a crap.
If you decide to stay ensure you will not be placed at site 122 or any other near by on flip flop lane.

Very disappointed in our stay.

Great campground. Sites are all clean and maintained. Clean bathrooms and hot showers. They do well to keep the late night campers quiet but not silent to not disturb others. Walking distance to everything. My biggest compliments is to the staff. They all are willing to help, knowledgeable in the area. In my own experience memorial weekend of 2026 they went well beyond out of there way to help me with getting me a ride to town etc as my truck was inop. I plan to return for apples and BBQ AND MEMORIAL WEEKEND AGAIN

Great campsite the location was great, wish they were a little more diligent with quiet hours we had some very noisy neighbors. Also the bathrooms by the pool were not very clean and it seemed some of the toilets were broken in the women’s bathroom making it very difficult/sometimes impossible to flush. Campsites are also very close together which is great if you are camping with others but not great for privacy. Overall would stay again here no huge complaints
