Great site. 2nd year in a row staying here. Only complaint is there were a couple hundred cigarette butts around the area. We spent a lot of time picking up the majority of these.

This place was incredible. There was a little bit of a mess left over from some visitors before us, but nothing too bad. Just a broken bottle and some bottle caps. The water in the lake was crystal clear, the locals are friendly, and the place was easy to find. The paper map and directions are both accurate. For help getting here, you can use this location pin: 46.066566, -86.544978. Just copy and paste it into maps and you'll be very close to the road used to access the site.
There was no noise and the area was quiet by 10pm each night (4 total). Lots and lots of toads and frogs! A couple swampy areas on the outskirts of the campsite made for a cool habitat to check out.
I would love to go back here again. Definitely recommend doing some local kayaking and seeing grand island (45min drive).

Well let’s see, the site 04 was not labeled so I circled forever with my kids. A resident of the lake tried to help me find my site with no luck. I went down a path that said sites 2-3 to see if I could get anywhere and met some women that said that the site I was looking for was closed and should not have been rented out. I was over 400 miles from my home with 4 children with me and no where to camp in the middle of some pretty rainy weather!! I have never been more upset in my life!!! I had to drive around and find somewhere else to stay! Thank God I was able to find a place!! I couldn’t even find how to get a refund!! I will never rent from recreation.gov again!!

It's a beautiful spot but there were a bunch of 20 something year old that were camping near us and were extremely loud most of the night. Every night at 1030-11pm they got on their pontoon boat and rode around the lake most of the lake hooting and hollaring until about 3am. I'm all about having a good time, but being respectful of others.

Not a campground, it is a great place to get maps and information on the area. The staff was so helpful and made me feel at home in the forest.
