I have been going to swan lake since I was a little kid with my father and now I am an old man taking my son and grand son on trips to Swan Lake and we all love it.

This location was beautiful, the lake in the morning made everything feel so still and quiet. A great site for a service free, relaxing weekend or longer. The site didn't have the best place for the pop up camper, but we made it work for the area. Anything larger would be much more difficult. Campsite, bathroom, and fireplace were clean and in good condition.

On the lookout for my Hiawatha National forest passport stamp I stopped in here since we were nearby. I love going to all the random national park and forest offices, especially the quiet ones like these because the rangers are always so kind and helpful. While they didn’t have stamps (I doubt they get many walk ins, haha) they were so nice and gave my son tons of Smokey swag and gave us hiking tips. They were going to get some park stamps from another office so if you’re in the area they might have the stamps now! They have water refills and bathrooms too plus tons of materials and trail maps. I think I prefer these national forest offices to the bigger national park ones because the rangers have more time to talk. Make sure to support our parks and forests!! Thank you to the rangers working there and at all the forests. I always enjoy the time I spend in the ranger offices.

Didn’t go to Swan Lake Campsite. Went to Swan Lake Campground in MT which was excellent. Waiting to see if I get a refund

Great site. Next to the boat ramp. Seems like they cleared a few trees after recent weather. Not really an even site but there is room between the site and the boat ramp where maybe you could be more level. BIG NOTE google maps took me down a road where the bridge is out for construction. Go the route where the other three sites have road access. The other way will probably be blocked until 2024.

Nice swimming access, warm water. Our dog loved it! The fire pit is a plus- my fiance had a fire going all the time. Easy to drive to this location. Pit toilet is also nice. Flat area to set up tent. Good amount of mosquitoes so bring repellent. It's plenty private from sites 3 and 4 but we also enjoyed talking to some of the other campers. We are already planning our next trip back here!

From the Intersection of US-2 and Forest Highway 13 (about 14 miles east of Rapid River): drive north 19 miles on Highway 13 to CR 440.
- Turn right (east) and drive 2.7 miles to FR 2258.
- Turn left (north) on 2258 and drive 0.25 mile to FR 2725.
- To reach sites 2-4: Turn left (east) onto FR 2725. Drive about 0.75 mile on FR 2725 to reach the sites.
- To reach site 1: Drive about 1.3 miles north on FR 2258 to FR 2013. Turn right (east) on FR 2013 and drive about 0.7 mile to the site.
Swan Lake Campsites is accessible via US-2, located approximately 14 miles to the south, and Forest Highway 13, which is the primary route leading north towards the campground.

Policies & Rules
General
- Pack-In, Pack-out policy
- There is a 14-day stay limit.
- No drinking water provided.
- Campsite must be occupied the first night.
- Campsite cannot be left unattended for more than 24 hours.
- Horse camping: All straw, hay, feed and manure must be raked up and hauled home.
- Horses must be properly tethered in designated areas
- You are welcome to collect firewood from the area surrounding your campsite. Just remember that any firewood that you collect must be DEAD AND DOWN

- Don't move firewood: To limit the spread of invasive tree-killing pests, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Some states have quarantines and may confiscate your firewood.
