Sylvania is a beautiful place! We had some nights in the wilderness area and other nights in the Clark Lake campground. Sadly, the bathrooms were locked at one point due to plumbing issues and only one outhouse was available for the entire campground at that point.

The fishing could have been better, the thunderstorms and cold front shut er down for the few days we were there. Caught some small panfish and pike but nothing to eat. The crew at sylvania outfitters are awesome, tons of knowledge and the best help, I give them 10 stars!!

The trip was great this year. Not too many mosquitos, great rain free weather and picked to right campsite to view the Perseid's meteor show. Unfortunately there was cloud cover so we only saw a few meteors.

Portage from Clark to Loon not long. We had a very heavy canoe and the Portage had some up hill climbs. This made it difficult for us.

Nice site. Some sun. Privacy from the other site. The only thing we didn't like was the trail pretty much went through the site.

Really enjoyed the crystal clear waters of Loon Lake and the sandy beaches. Loon campsite was a fantastic setting. We also enjoyed the Bobcat campsite on High Lake (which is a very deep lake!). Additionally, all the portages we used (to Deer Island Lake, Cub Lake, Florence Lake, High Lake, Loon Lake, Mountain Lake and East Bear Lake) were in great shape. Bathroom facilities and well water pumps at the boat launches for Clark Lake and Crooked Lake were in great shape, with the exception that the top hinge on the bathroom door at the Clark Lake boat launch needs to be replaced. It is bent, which causes the bathroom door to stick at the top. Best of all, there were hardly any bugs in late August!
