We enjoyed 3 nights at Balsam and 2 nights at Maple. Balsam is an easy backpack from the Clark Lake Boat Ramp and worked well for us after driving a day and a half. Loved the beach and the sunsets. We saw and heard loons. Did day hikes to Crooked Lake and Loon Lake. Then we backpacked on to Maple which is nice for sunrises. Did a day hike to Whitefish Lake and loved that little beach! Backpacked out to the boat ramp.

We had a fantastic experience here. The scenery is gorgeous and the sites are well maintained.
My only tiny bit of criticism is that they could make it easier to locate portages through the use of visual indicators. Nothing obnoxious to ruin the vibe, but something.

The most beautiful preserved forest land I’ve ever experienced while camping. I was in aw the entire time.

I think you should give a better description of the campsites, not just the number of people. Badger 1 was a very poor spot to set up tents. It had very little level ground.
Also, there were many hanging limbs and/or dead trees near both Badger and Beaver tenting areas.

First time staying at mallard site. To be honest it is a great site. We stayed on mallard 2. Large site. Great landing. Only negative was out of all the sites I have stayed at mallard 1 and mallard 2 are pretty close to each other.

Birch is a great site. We had spent four night in sylvania and the wind was high so the only night we stayed her it was nice to be in the bay and kind of out of the wind. Big open site. Decent landing

Peaceful and quiet. Bear 2 was great, on an isthmus between lakes, swimming was great. Ash 1 was good, made for an easy exit off Clark lake in the morning.
