Too many campers without their dogs on a leash and not controlling them. Walking around the road in the campground when a aggressive bulldog came out and attacked my daughter and her dog and the owners were not taking responsibility for it. Thankfully they left the next morning.

The campground is very nice. paved road right to the campground. Sites are spread out with plenty of space, paved loop road is good with easy service to sites and dump station, bath house is one of the best we have seen / used, quiet atmosphere, the commons / boat landing area is very nice with full service for boat landing or day use. The Rangers do their best to maintain the CG but they have several CG’s / Areas to maintain and are stretched rather thin. There is a full time CG host but in as many times as we have been here we have NEVER seen them do ANYTHNG, we have never seen them leave their site, they are very unfriendly with no camper interaction ? No CG mowing, site clean between reservations, no fire pit cleaning, no general trash pickup, or general conditions maintenance, thank goodness the bath house / vault toilets cleaning is sub contracted they do a great job ! in example - we told the host that the vault toilets were out of hand sanitizer and they told us “we don’t do that” the service will provide. Very disappointing that their job description is ‘just be there’ ????

Winnie Dam campground is the place to stay. Camp hosts are welcoming and friendly. The campground is well kept and the park down by the dam is great for the little ones as well as the adults. Will be going back for sure.
Happy camping everyone!!

In addition to a great campground the camp hosts were very helpful when I needed help because of a hamstring injury.
