A comfortable stay on the lake, with surprisingly few bugs or 'camp visitors' through the night. The lake was the perfect temp for swimming and despite being a holiday weekend (before July 4th), the place was still fairly open. I didn't go fishing, but it reminds me so much of a place I went all the time as a kid, and I would put money on some good fish living in there, even if just for the kids.

This is a really nice national forest park on a lovely lake. There is a trail around the lake with side trails. Our site was #21 and the only site with sewer as it used to be a park host site. The other sites have water and electric and all are very nice. Most have new concrete picnic tables. We were near the restroom, and it's older and could use a refresh. Park host is very nice and came around to great us.

Site 9 is now our favorite spot. Beautiful and situated in a way that it doesn’t seem like your neighbors are too close. Host Danny is the best!!

Wonderful smaller campground. Great sites and great views of the lake. All sites are well maintained and dry. Great hiking trails around the lake and through the woods, all accessible right from the campground.

Site #6 was an excellent spot. We tested our new pop up camper for two nights. Choctaw lake is a beautiful spot with a great Camp Host. If I could change anything it would be additional toilets in the men’s restroom and showers that are not on a timer. The water was hot, with plenty of pressure, but you had to hit the button every 30 seconds to keep the water flowing. It’s for a good reason to cut down on waste, and I get that. Let’s just up the timer to 60 seconds at least lol.

The spots were nice. Gave 3 stars because bath house was worst we have seen. Plumbing was clogged and bath house was filthy. Guardians dropped off unsupervised young teenage tent campers across from us and we were uncomfotable for them and us.
Never saw the host the 2 nights we were there. Beautiful lake and hiking was awesome.
Planning to go again.
