I love everything about this campground except one thing—-when people are jogging or walking around these curves inside a campground you don’t see them until you just get right up on them. That’s very very dangerous. I think they should be able to widen the roads somehow to make a spot for the joggers and people walking

My recent stay at Twiltley Branch was a true outdoor adventure. Despite a forecast dominated by heavy rain and thunderstorms, the experience was highly rewarding.
The Experience:
While the weather was challenging, the natural landscape provided enough clear intervals to fully enjoy the site. Initially, I was prepared to sleep in my vehicle due to the storms, but with the encouragement of my camping partner, we successfully utilized the breaks in the weather to set up camp. I was able to get my gear covered during a light drizzle, and it did not impact the overall quality of the stay.
Key Observations:
• Scenic Value: The lake views are exceptional. Waking up to the vista, even with the storm clouds, was the highlight of the trip.
• Site Resilience: Despite the significant rainfall, the site remained manageable and provided a great sense of immersion in nature.
• Atmosphere: The campground offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.
Recommendation:
For future visitors, I highly recommend staying for the views alone. While the weather can be unpredictable, the site's beauty makes it well worth the effort of navigating a few storms. I left with a newfound confidence in my camping skills and a deep appreciation for this location.

The gate person was so incredibly nice and accommodating!! However, this is the worst COE campground we have been to in our 5+ years camping. The sites are very close together. Lots of trees around and next to the sites makes backing in a real challenge for larger rigs (ours is 36’). The type of fellow campers there reminded me of being in Panama City, FL during spring break…no campground etiquette to speak of. We could hear our neighbors music, camp sites a MESS/TRASHY, children screaming and randomly approaching our 3 dogs while we were walking them, riding their bikes close to our dogs to taunt them. No parental supervision AT ALL. I watched a 4-5 yr old child walking with a toddler along the water’s edge for 15 minutes with no adult supervision. Our neighbor’s 3 dogs were allowed to run around between the water and their campsite unleashed. They were so reactive to our dogs that we couldn’t sit outside with our dogs (they could see our dogs from the back of their site/no privacy) My husband likes to use the bathhouse so he checked it out after we arrived. It was clean. When he went back early the next morning it was completely trashed with toilets stopped up/full, tp strewn everywhere. It stormed on our first night and a limb fell on our roof damaging the cover of our bathroom fan, so we had to leave early to get it repaired, but honestly, there was no way that I was going to stay there for a week. Could NOT get out of there fast enough. Will never go back or recommend.
