What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

What a beautiful place! The campground was kept in great condition. Each site had level concrete pads. Our sites were large and accommodated our group just fine. The Bathrooms were cleaned 2x a day. At night it was very quiet. The highlight was watching a pair of bald eagles fish right in front of us! It was amazing to see them dive into the water. We will definitely return!!

We love this campground for the following reasons:
Clean, friendly camp host, and most of the time mowed camp sites.
The only thing is negative is they need a dog park for all the dogs that come with their families.

It is such a well maintained campground with beautiful views of the lake from so many of the sites. Even the sites under the pine trees were amazing! I would like to come back and spend more than one day there. The Corps parks are our go to parks for short and long trips.

This particular spot was loud due to the proximity to the bathroom and proximity to the next site. It was well lit which is normally a good thing but when you’re in a text camper, it was way too bright.

Love this place. The host and Rangers are very friendly and helpful when needed. Patrol regularly but not intrusive.
NEED to try to do something about the LARGE number of red ant hills. Otherwise very clean and nice campground and facilities.
Will go there again.

Great place for family camping. Nice wide level concrete pads. Full 39/50 amp hookups including sewage. Easy to navigate your rig in the campground. COE campgrounds are typically the best kept parks for RV’ers.
