What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

Our visit to Persimmon Hill (Enid Lake) did not start off well. We arrived late, but we found our site (13) and parked. When we went into the restroom (the one closest to the entrance), both my wife and I were greeted with a nasty odor, and someone had defecated on the toilet seats. This was not the fault of the host or the cleaning crew, this was just some vulgar individual(s) with no respect for others. The next morning the cleaning crew was there and had the place cleaned up and smelling clean in short order.
In the morning, we could see what a nice campground this was. Now, we were there in December, and it was not busy. But the facilities were nice, the showers worked well, there was a playground with a basketball court and what looked like newer playground equipment.
This is probably the nicest and least expensive campground we stayed at on our vacation.

One of my favorite get-a-ways for either a weekend or extended stay camping experience. Very well maintained facilities with perfectly level concrete pads.

Grass not mowed, fire pits piled high with ashes. Host blames coe for not having contractors to mow since back in the summer.

Clean and well cared for. Paved trail is a good, albeit short hike. Expect to hear highway noise .
