What Guests Are Saying
Persimmon Hill offers a lovely camping experience with clean, spacious, and mostly level campsites, many with beautiful lake views and abundant wildlife, including deer. Facilities are well-maintained, and the campground provides excellent value, especially for seniors with the America the Beautiful Pass. While some sites have minor issues, such as grass height and traffic concerns, most visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite destination for many.

Really lovely campground. I really enjoyed the paved trail through the woods that’s easily accessible from anywhere in the park.

Very quiet weekend. Cool, but enjoyable. We have been out of camping for 3 years. Have new RV and are glad to be camping again.

Me and my wife have camped there several times with grandkids. The park is always clean the restrooms are always nice and clean as well. I don't have any complaints about anything.

This is a very nice park. Well kept up. I have always thought the name Persimmon Hill should be included at the interstate exit sign, not just a sign of a camper. Then, once inside the park, signage to show where Persimmon Hill is should be included to clarify where to turn.

Was just an "overnight" stop but, we will be back. Everything was done online so no human contact (ranger/host did drive by and wave). Full hook-ups with no problems. The lake level was down but it was teeming with waterfowl. Back-in space was level concrete, plenty of room to park the "toad". Lunch/dinner at the "Catfish House" right out of the park was well worth it.
