What a lovely camping experience. We do an annual Grandkids trip in our Class A motorhome. We had five grands with us ages 8 to 16. They had a wonderful time swimming in the lake and burning off a little energy after a long day of travel. Deer strolled through the park and munched grass at the water's edge. Campsites are clean, close to the water, easy to reach and for the most part, level. Full hook-up were amazing and all for $15 a night with the America Beautiful Senior pass. We would love to come back without the grands to just kick back, relax and watch the sun set over the lake.

Everything was in order grass was mowed, pads were in order but most of all the camp host was fantastic!!

Not sure why but there is no hand soap in the bathrooms. Is it a theft problem? Pickle ball courts would be better than basketball courts. Wouldn’t take much to convert the basketball courts to pickle ball courts!

What a beautiful, peaceful campground. Bath houses were very clean, but could use a refresh as there are a few items (like soap dishes in the showers) that are broken. Good water pressure. Level sites that are easy to back in to. If you are a senior with an America the Beautiful Pass, you cannot beat the price, especially for full hook ups. All utilities are in great working order, and wildlife is abundant.

This is the best USACE park I’ve ever stayed in and we go almost every weekend. It was beautiful and had nice facilities. Just gorgeous! Plus it was quiet and still not too far off the beaten path. Excellent cell service too.

I don't think we'll be camping here again. I consider site 34 to be dangerous for entering or exiting my fifth wheel. There's a considerable slope that needs some concrete or gravel. Like most sites in this park the grass is dead from the patio mat's where you'd have your steps. The picnic table and grill are in a runoff area, this needs some gravel!

The park grass was very high in our campsite and there seems to be an ant problem. We came with friends and had 3 different site and all had issues with the black biting ants! 🐜

From I-55, take exit 233 onto County Road 36 south, cross the dam. Turn onto County Road 34 and continue 1 mile, following the signs into the campground.
The campground is accessible via I-55, with exit 233 leading to County Road 36.

Policies & Rules
General
- No horses or livestock permitted at the campground
- A large picnic shelter may be reserved for $50/day
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Must have reservation before camping.
- America Beautiful Senior and Access card holder has to be present when card is used.
- No Pets in buildings.
- No ATV's allowed
- There is a beach fee of $5.00 and boat ramp fee of $5.00 per vehicle.
- Beach area and picnic shelter 583 and 584 are closed from October 1 to April 1.
