I’ve been a long term camper and wanted to leave a review for folks who don’t camp that often. This particular camp is beautiful and serene. Fishing, swimming, hiking, it’s got everything. Lots of chances to see local wildlife too. They’ve done a great job with the grounds and work hard to make your stay here something to remember. Because I’ve been camping here awhile, I’ve got a unique viewpoint on camping so pro tips? I’ve got em! If you don’t camp often and imagine that you’re gonna throw parties all night? Yeah no. Sure you can bring guests. If they stay overnight, you’ve got to pay for their overnight visit. That’s usual for any campground. Other things that are common at any campground be it federal or state or private: Noise ordinance times might vary but not by much. Most camps require that you cut out the noise level every night, usually around 10 pm to 9 or 10 am next morning. You’re not alone out here. Plenty of people camp to get away from the racket in the world and don’t want to be kept up all night bc someone feels like they own a camp and can do whatever they want. You’re borrowing space to take a break and relax, not staying at a 5 star hotel with maid service so clean up at your camp and after yourself in the shower house and bathrooms. If you don’t, don’t expect to be appreciated by anyone coming in after. Management does a great job at most campgrounds but it’s assumed you’re an adult and know how to respect others. Because I’ve camped here for awhile, I’ve seen lots of folks come through and it’s good to see everyone have a great time. Lots of water sports like kayaking and camping here so you can fish both on shore and off or just get the chance to take photos along the creek. There are fire pits set up for folks who are using tents. You can bring your own firewood or buy it from the managers if they’re still doing that. Check first when you visit. Nothing like grilling over the fire or hanging out with friends after a fun day laughing around the fire. The fireflies this time of year make the woods sparkle at night. Magical. You’ll meet lots of friendly folks too. I only expected to camp for a short while but turns out I love it so much I’m still here lol. Enjoy your stay here. You’ll love it too!

I was amazed by the kindness from the staff and how clean the place is especially the bathrooms. The staff is always amazing and made me feel right at home. Can count on them 24/7. I love the kayaking for 20 bucks a day what a deal!!! The Sands remind me of Florida just like it been to several campgrounds but this one definitely is the best from the staff to the atmosphere I will definitely be back and definitely love this place

My husband and I are full-time residents here, along with our four furry babies, and we truly couldn’t ask for a better place to call home. The management team goes above and beyond—they make us feel safe, welcomed, and genuinely cared for every single day. Anytime we need something, they’re quick to respond and always willing to help.
The campground is consistently well-maintained, with neatly cut grass and clean surroundings that make it such a peaceful and enjoyable environment. It’s perfect not just for couples, but for families and pets too!
Our grandbabies absolutely love visiting us here—they have the best time playing in the sand and exploring. What makes it even more special is how warm and welcoming management is toward them, making every visit feel like home.
If you’re looking for a friendly, clean, and family-oriented RV park, this is definitely the place to be! 🏕️💛

Absolutely horrible experience. This place is a complete ripoff and the management is beyond unprofessional.
We paid $70 for a campsite that was $35 just the weekend before—literally DOUBLE the price for no reason. And to make it even worse, we didn’t even get to camp where we PAID to stay. We were basically told to go elsewhere after already paying, which is ridiculous.
Then things got even worse. Instead of communicating like normal people, staff came up aggressively and got directly in one of our group’s face, screaming about a “noise complaint.” We were NEVER told about any prior complaints, so this was the first we were hearing about it. No warning, no heads up—just straight to yelling and confrontation.
And then they called the cops. Over what? Starting a Jeep. They tried to claim we were “revving the engine,” which is completely untrue. It was blown way out of proportion and handled in the worst possible way.
Between the random price hike, not even getting the spot we paid for, zero communication, and staff acting completely out of line, this was hands down one of the worst campground experiences I’ve ever had. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

We stayed for the first time on Memorial Day weekend, we had a great time. Ms. Donna is amazing, she goes above and beyond to make your stay a good time. Was really pleased with it, we will definitely be back. Loved being able to just relax and watch the kids having fun swimming and fishing. Look forward to our next visit, hopefully soon.
