This is a beautiful place but don't tell anyone about it! Our family really enjoyed the camp site. Great place to bring a kyak too.
Staff on site are great too.
Please consider however placing a simple pipe vent of some kind in the bathroom by the campground boat ramp. No need to a fan but some sort of ventilation exhaust is badly needed. It is pretty bad in there on a hot day!!
Thanks!

Far from everything, but a quiet getaway. The campgrounds are located far from town, down multiple long, hilly, winding rural roads making it not ideal if you’re just passing through or want to go to things in the near by area. But it’s great if you’re looking for a place to “get away from the city for a few days”. Deer frequently encountered on roads after dusk. Small playground for kids. We arrived our first night after dark, and found our spot easily, although needed to setup camp with headlights and flash lights, while trying to avoid attracting more swarms of bugs. LOTS of bugs. We only left the door of the camper open a few seconds, long enough to get inside, but we then had the task of catching the swarm of bugs which followed us inside. We purchased a bug zapper a couple days into our visit. It was caked full after a couple hours at dusk. Many spots with views of water, great views. Good sized camp spots of various sizes with grass separating. Had a pull through spot, but for us, we wished could have pulled through the opposite direction to face the grass area/playground for the kids, instead of the water view, but one way road didn’t allow for this. Dump station at entry to campgrounds convenient for when leaving. The dump station is far away, although still feasible if needing to dump mid-stay (the wide entry road helps this by being wide enough for a small camper to do a u-turn). We had pre-arrival questions about if we could do a late check-in, and it was not possible to reach anyone by phone (excessive wait at the reservation service’s phone number, no number found for the site itself). But luckily we didn’t have any issues arriving later in the evening - our spot was waiting for us with our reservation tag on it. As we were reaching the end of our stay, an employee drove by and put the next reservation tag up. Seeing a gap in dates, we likely would have paid for an extra day, but figuring out how to extend was too much effort.
