This is a great park, right on the river. For the disabled, it is a great place since I can drive real close to the beach, leaving but a small walk to river. However, there are no disabled camping sites. There's a great camp store that is walkable from the campground. Only 5 miles from Annapolis and 17 miles from Ellington that has the greatest Mexican restaurant and the best handmade hamburgers at Spooner's, right next door. If you go west from Ellington, you are on your way to the Current River.

Such a beautiful hidden gem! We had the campground to ourselves. We met Tom the campground attendant when we checked in who was incredibly friendly. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He ended up kindly sharing some firewood with us and even took the time to cut up some starter logs. He then told us about the best swimming holes and later picked us up in his truck and drove us to one that our little Honda couldn't reach. Such a kind hearted person. Truly good people. Highly recommend just because of him.

Nice camp ground with access to the Black River. Very clean restroom/shower facilities. We have stayed here many times.
Jeff's Canoe Rental (within walking distance) is convenient for float trips and they have a store where you can buy ice, refreshments and float trip necessities. You can also walk to the river for swimming.
