We discovered Old Highway 86 this year and it is our favorite campground! Site 21 is AMAZING! The way the site is positioned is easy to back in and puts your camper broadside to the lake - offering an incredible view and a feeling of privacy. The patio area couldn't be more perfect. My husband used the shower house and said it was clean. The site has shade and the breeze coming off the lake was comfortable. The only critique I could give is that the grass in the campground was too high... All of the people working at the campground that we interacted with were more than friendly and helpful. We will stay here again every chance we get!

I love Old Highway 86 Campground - and give the campground itself 5 stars ----- but, specifically site 23 was not my favorite. It does not have much shade at all and was too hot for us to sit outside. It does have a lovely view, but I sure wish there were more shade trees. The grass was a little high and there were lots of bees and chiggers. The campground is great, we will watch for a different site next time.

No Host on site. Not everyone follows the rules especially about checkout time and dogs that are not on a leash

We have been camping at Old 86 since the 80s. We love the way it is naturally a peninsula so that there are really no bad campsites and all have a water view if not a waterfront. There is a great swimming area, boat launch and NO traffic anywhere. It has always been clean and kept up and the shower houses are clean. Most COE campgrounds are very nice but we prefer Old 86.

We have been coming here now for 5 years and imagine my disappointed to pull my 40' RV into a campsite that was very hard to reserve and find that I am surrounded by tent campers. This has always been my favorite campground and I am afraid before long we will not be able to get in at all because of the tents. With no campground managers now to look after the place, it is only a matter of time before this place goes downhill. I am sure there are plenty of Campgrounds for tents and so few for us RVers.
