The beautiful sites are very well maintained. We stayed at site 68. It is a pull through site that borders the lake. 50 ft out the door and you’re in the water. The 2nd day there I was having my coffee and getting ready to go kayaking. The cleaning person saw me and stopped and introduced herself. I’ve got to say this park has the cleanest shower houses and restrooms. Later on that day the campground hosts stopped by and introduced themselves. I don’t think I have ever met a friendlier staff. Fast forward to the day before departure. I thought I would get a head start on packing up and load the kayak onto our truck. While loading the kayak I lost my footing and fell to the pavement. I went to bed in a lot of pain. I woke up withe a very sore arm, should, and hip. Julie told me we’re going to the hospital. Julie went and talked the host and explained our situation. The host reassured her everything would be ok. At the hospital it was confirmed I broke my arm. I would be no help in packing or driving home. The host (Ken & Dauna) walked Julie through breaking down the camper, helped her load the kayak, and walked her through dumping our tanks. I cant express how much help Ken and Dauna were. The park was the cleanest, with the most helpful personnel of any park we have visited. Ken and Dauna turned a nightmare into a memory that Julie and I will never forget. I will forever be greatfull to Ken and Dauna.

The last 3 times we've stayed at Old 86 the grass was way too long. The ground maintenance needs to be kept better. We were told it would be cut for the 4th of July holiday but we left on the 2nd and it was overgown. However, the camp hosts, Dauna and Ken, are fabulous. We truly enjoyed speaking with them and they even brought our dog treats when they came by.

Need to mow more , weeds on the picnic table area and grass to high . Can’t get to the water or have a good view anymore because of the overgrown weeds and bushes

Site 70 was perfect. Right on the water and faces the Branson Belle riverboat which was really neat. Small water entrance to the lake was great for taking our floaters to chill on the water. And it is a shaded site which was nice as well. Hosts were nice and informative. If you tent on this site know that it is quite rocky. We laid mats down and it worked fine.
Facilities are kept clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as tent campers but the sites were predominantly RV campers. If you do bring an RV know that the road down into the campground is pretty steep. The campground was overall very quiet even though they were full. We went in late June over a weekend.
