would have been much better if the grass would have been mowed. It was very tall and we found ticks on us and our dog daily.Should have had a park attendant .

Arrived May 1- opening day on a Monday so not too full. Sure is along a road but not too much traffic. Actually very private. Very very shady with all the gorgeous trees- no hookups so generator was needed during our 6 night stay.
Bathrooms are clean
Easy & pretty walk to boat launch for some kayaking and short 10 -15 min ((ish) drive to Roaring River for trout fishing …thick with trout!
Cell service was good!

This is a fun and lively campground. We stayed on two sites with a large group of multiple families using tents and a camper. It was very spacious and wooded so great for hanging a hammock and having plenty of room to stretch out. The place was very full and there was a lot of rowdy people that stayed up well past quiet hours and a lot of teenagers running amuck. The bathrooms were okay, but both ended up with clogged toilets and ran out of paper. I've stayed here previously not in the summer and it was much different. If you like the lively, party atmosphere then this is a great place. If you are looking for a quiet stay I would go elsewhere. We did enjoy eating at the restaurant on the marina though!
