It’s a nice campground with a couple of different swimming holes and places to put your chairs in the water. Scenery is natural Missouri river. The float from Tipton Ford to here is pretty nice. They do not rent kayaks but Creek Critters offers shuttle service if you have your own ($20 per kayak/person when I checked). You can also paddle downstream to a nice gravel bar and back pretty easily. The restaurant is right on the water with a nice deck. It’s a nice setting. Food is good and so was the service. It’s not fancy but it’s good and clean and great even for stopping by for lunch either by car or water craft.
They have RV sites that can be reserved and some “cabin” options along with a stagecoach. Tent sites are on an island so you have to carry all your stuff over and then go park your car in the field on the other side of the parking lot area. We car camp so tent island didn’t work for us. They allowed us to camp in a group of trees on the disc golf course. It had a fire ring and a lot of shade which was nice. We wanted to camp in the group of trees on down across from the second water access but that wasn’t allowed we were told. Bathrooms were a mixed decor but clean. Couldn’t figure out the shower drain and another guest asked me about it on a different trip to the bathroom so I’m not the only one. We would go again, but probably try tent island if we can find something to haul our stuff over. RV spots are popular and typically booked when I think to look. Reasonable rates. They did start weed eating by 8 am both Saturday and Sunday which we found odd. We like to drink coffee and listen to nature in the mornings. I wish I had taken water and restaurant pictures but we were trying to avoid phones this weekend.

We tent camped here. It was peaceful and relaxing. With a restaurant on the property we were able to take less food. The food was amazing as well. The restaurant is pet friendly! Even cats. All animals must be on a leash and non aggressive. The family that run this place are very kind. A few tent spots had electricity and water.

I stayed here back in 2023. It was my transition from Renting/empty nesting into purchasing my new small home . The first day I was greeted with smiles and helped with setting up my camper . Which I knew hardly anything about it and was shown how to use it. I was so grateful. I stayed there for several months and enjoyed the family that owns this place . I watched them work even and changes to the RV park lots. Such amazing people. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone interested in finding a weekend getaway.

I was traveling through from TX to ST Louis and stopped in. The restaurant had EXCELLENT food, and the staff was very kind and attentive. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in and camping on their tent island, and checking out the river!
I stayed on tent island which is VERY easily accessible and has well-lit sides and a bit darker if you want it more rustic.
VERY family friendly and oriented.

We rented the igloo for my 50th Birthday dinner.
It was such a fun experience. It was such a cozy experience, but also plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable.
The heater was fantastic!
Amy was our server and she was amazing. Very attentive and friendly.
