We have been bringing our grandkids here for about 6 years, off and on, and unfortunately, the campground and water park continues in a state of decline. We came during the week day in July and when I made reservations in December prior, we were charged a lot lock fee. I called and asked why and was told that is just standard. We were there 3 nights and the campground, with overnighters were about 1/3 full (lots of lots available), so why the lock fee? They threw several other crazy fees on the bill as well like extra fee for our two grandkids. Unfortunately the park needs a lot of upkeep including the roads and shrubbery. The pool water was very murky and algae or something growing on the sides. You could not see the floor of the pool. They have a lot of activities for the kids with several you have to pay a fee. We rented a golf cart and it was in pretty bad condition. I noticed most were. Most of the staff were friendly. I tried calling the campground several times to ask questions but I was always directed to the corporate reservationist. I asked an employee when I was there and I was told your call will always go to corporate. On to the water park and one of the biggest reasons we go. Major disappointment this year. The kids spray park is completely gone, and the fixtures are just pushed off to the side. The lazy river was like the pool, very murky water. The wave pool was not working. I was told the emergency shut off had to be pushed early in the morning and it never worked the rest of the day. The horn would sound, the life guards would stand at attention but the waves never came. The water slides were all functioning and in good shape. All the life guards and workers were very friendly. The park is safe and it is a great location. I don't like to be negative, but I have noticed a difference in the condition of the park after it was purchased by a large corp a few years ago. For the price, we no longer find the value to return. I hope they can get some things moving back in the right direction as it used to be a great place to vacation. Maybe this is why the park is only 1/3 full in the middle of vacation season.

We had a wonderful time at the Halloween spooktacular weekend. The park was clean. We stayed in a camper and the sites had electric, water, and sewer. STAFF WERE AMAZING, friendly and always willing to help. The kids loved it all, especially the recreational activities and the jump pad. It was the best camping experience we've ever had. We will be back!

We had an excellent time during our visit for the Halloween Spooktacular! There were endless activities for the kids, the campsites were clean, staff was very nice & helpful. Trick or treating was so much fun, the golf cart rentals are super handy, and the gift shop/restaurant has a much to choose from. One of our best camping experiences! We will definitely be back!

Had a great time - stayed in a King bed room at the Steamboat inn. Nice accommodations. Pretty property and location. Nearby Florida Winery was awesome. Only thing I'd suggest is that somehow the website make note that there are no toiletries in the rooms - bring own shampoo/conditioner/soap. Or you'll be buying it at the general store...which is nice!

I used to really like this place for Kids. Unfortunately, it is getting run down and unless they make some major repairs, it is no longer worth the price to camp. The water park only had a few features working! The wave pool was not functioning properly in June, still not working Labor Day weekend. So much so that it was not even usable as a pool. The splash pools for the littles was not open either. One of the slides has been shut down for good, I was told. The actual pool in the campgrounds was not clean and smelled really bad. With out either of these water features, it is no better and twice the price as any campground in the area. Another negative is that even if you pick a camp site and reserve it, they want $35 additional to guaranty that you get that site. I have never seen this anywhere else and absolutely hate it. I do a lot of trips with a few groups and this is definitely a deterrent when deciding where to go! If a site is available at time of reservation, there should NEVER be an additional charge! Bottom Line, what used to be a strong choice, is no longer going to be a consideration if things don't change!
