This is our favorite place to go but it's been getting worse year after year. Please go back to the way it was when the beach was taken care of and roads weren't crumbling away. Also there's never a dumpster down near the sites anymore, only at the top of the hill. Very inconvenient. It used to be perfect, now not so much.

Would love to give 5 stars... However, Listing details do not report that site has water. To our surprise it did. I hope this will be updated ASAP. Our site was perfectly level!! Major flood had came through just prior to our visit. It did appear that grounds are usually maintained. Shower house was newer and in great repair. Shower spray - meh. It worked and hot water lasted during showering. River into lake was still clearing up. Lots of sandy areas from park upstream. Water level is not deep, so caution to those with prop driven craft. Loop A is an older area, B loop back to trees. loop C is out in the open.

Very nice campground, all spots are nicely spaced apart. No cell service but starlink works great.

Overall we had a great experience despite the recent flooding. We were the only group in the campground which was really nice. The hosts came by a couple of times and were very nice. We put a boat in the lake everyday and enjoyed a nice fish fry. We will definitely give the campground another try when the weather is a bit cooler. Temps near 100 made enjoying all the park a little rough.
Just an fyi,... Piedmont is 20 minutes away if you need supplies and cell service is very poor in the park.

The campsites were nice, and it would have been a good camping experience, but the noise level from campers across from us and the lack of enforcement of quiet time was totally unacceptable. The people across from us - four cars, four tents, and at least 8 people, played loud noise (they may have thought it was music) continuously. The second night when i finally got to sleep, I was awakened by one of them at midnight by their loud hollering and yelling, in addition to the loud music. I talked to the camp host during the day, and he said he would take care of, but he certainly did not. They were as loud the second night as they were the first night. We saw a truck drive by slowly with Park Ranger printed on door. He did not stop at the noisy campsite, even though they were making lots of noise. We have camped at other Federally run campgrounds, and the people in charge always ensured that after 10 pm, all campers were quiet. Not this place.

With the upcoming rising water on the way, the gate attendant came by and explained that we would have to leave by that evening as the road may be under water. Then, when we left, I checked out with her and she immediately explained that she had put in for a credit for the remaining nights we had left. She was very diligent and courteous. The marina manager also came by and told us that information. We were grateful.

Had a wonderful time at this campground. We stayed in site C6, and the view from this section is beautiful. The campground was very well kept and clean. The host ensured campers abided by rules, and the campground was peaceful and quiet. We will be back
