This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The sites are spread out quite well, and you have some room between campsites. Its mostly level and easy to set up and hook up. The roads are all paved. There are lots of hiking and some biking trails at the park. Good fishing at the spillway and on the river below the dam. They don't have sewer hooks ups, but a two lane dump station that is well maintained.

Cons: NO SWIMMING SITE HERE. We had to go to the lake to swim. Be advised, only fishing and boating on this part of the river with no access to swim/wade in the water. Broken glass in sites, overgrown grass in our loop.
Pros: Everyone was friendly, hiking and biking trails nice, plenty of trash cans around. Great fishing access. Good prices at general store nearby (3 min. drive). Lots of birds to observe and listen to!

Great hosts and volunteers. Clean. Beautiful bike path. Beautiful Black river below the dam, but river was too high to float.

The host is great. We had trouble fitting on the campsite that we reserved. She helped us figure out where we should move to. The area is quiet and peaceful.

Bring your kayak/canoe, bike or walking shoes. There is lots to do here besides sitting and relaxing. Campground was well kept, bathrooms were ok.
