What Guests Are Saying
Sutton Bluff Recreation Area is appreciated for its clean surroundings and excellent swimming area, with many campers enjoying the ATV trails accessible from the campground. However, there are concerns about the decline in facilities without a campground host, including dirty bathrooms, lack of supplies, and maintenance issues. Visitors are advised to navigate carefully to avoid unimproved roads and may want to book cautiously due to reports of overcrowding and site mix-ups.

The facilities are dated, but functional and clean.

The bathrooms and showers are gross. I actually cleaned them myself. No maintenance going into this campground.

My review is in regards to the shower house and bathroom facilities. While I appreciate the fairly low price for the camping sites I would like to see both the shower house and bathrooms updated. The toilets don't flush properly and the showers are falling into disrepair. I think either an update or complete rebuild would make a tremendous difference for this facility. Perhaps a slight increase in fees would help offset these costs. I truly hope that the powers that be hear my concerns. I know that MANY people are echoing my same thoughts. Thank you for listening.

Wonderful park as far as scenic and shady clean sites. However, the restroom shower building is much in need of renovation! Rusty corners, rusty hinges, concrete floors worn and stained. The building needs to be gutted and stated all over again. Come on US Forest service, up dating needed!

Although the park itself allows side by sides you are no longer allowed to take them down to the gravel bar area so we won’t be returning

The park was clean and well kept. Swimming area was fantastic. Do not drive anything into the swimming area, it’s not posted on the very visible trail but off limits to vehicles. The ranger will be more than happy to issue a ticket.

This place has been awesome for 25 years and especially when Steve ran the campground. Now the bathrooms/showers are nasty, the grass is half a__ cut and it functions more like a zoo! Expect power outages and surges, none of the rules are followed and the all new law enforcement officer Alex to pull you over for any lame reason he comes up with. Book with caution, you have been warned.

You need to be careful if using navigation getting to this site. There is an unimproved road that most navigation apps try to take you down instead of the paved road which is MUCH easier but a little longer getting into the site.

Great campground, especially for atv riders. You can access trails from camp.
Electricity available at some sites, but no wastewater dump, unfortunately. No camp host, but campers have been well-behaved in my experience.
