What Guests Are Saying
Henneberry House boasts an amazing location by the river, providing a beautiful and spacious cabin experience perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities. Guests enjoyed amenities like a well-stocked kitchen, a wood stove for warmth, and clean facilities, making it a great spot for gatherings. However, some improvements are needed, such as replacing the refrigerator, installing screen doors, and ensuring water safety, as the water isn't potable and requires boiling.

Love this place! It was much improved when we brought a vacuum along to clean the floors before and after our stay. Location is great.

Great cabin. Peaceful setting right next to the river. Good beds, stove, refrigerator, dishes. We brought mouse traps and trapped 3 mice. Clean cabin, nice outhouse. Would come back again. Thank you FS!

Trip if driving in from the south. Don't follow google map it is wrong. Drive north to Dillon and return on south on the interstate following the direction provided by recreation.gov.
The Henneberry House is well taken care and was a pleasure to stay at for a few days. I thought staying behind the gated area would provide lots of privacy but each day a several fisherman came walking up the banks fishing behind the house. In Mid -April 2022, there was no snow on the ground but the temps ranged from low 40's to mid 20's. Used the wood stove to heat the entire cabin. I think the large space heater is failing so don't count on it for heat. Would return to the cabin in the future.

Comfy beds. Great location.
Mouse in cabin on last night. Two traps were there but not set. Fridge was smelly - bring box of baking soda. We prefer other cabins so I doubt we will be back.

Cabin was clean and in fairly good shape. One of the futon beds was broken, however, still usable as long as you were gentle and had two or three people to lower and raise it together. This was our second time here and we really love it for being accessible all year and very comfortable. Went to Maverick Mountain ski area and Elkhorn Hotsprings one day, and Dillon is a cool town too, got breakfast there on our way out. We put up our food in the cabinets and/or sealed plastic bins when we were not cooking and eating and had no mouse problems. All in all a great trip, and we look forward to coming back in future years!

It's really sad to see such old historic cabins not be cared for. This place was absolutely filthy and in disrepair. I don't know why they would have rugs in there and not provide a vacuum, because there is enough dog hair to knit a sweater. The sink backed up, electrical outlets only work sometimes, and you could barely pump water out of the well it was so rusted.
I go to rustic cabins with no running water or electricity so I know what roughing it is. I don't know why I'm paying so much at night for a cabin not to be maintained. With the money they receive per night with that rental plus leasing out the land to ranchers they make enough to cover upgrades. I actually tried repairing the kitchen table because it was so wobbly you can even sit at it. But with little more than a screwdriver I could only do so much. Places infested with mice with no mice traps available. You could not leave your food out for 10 minutes and turn your back on it because when he came back it would be eaten. Other cabins are not like this, regardless of amenities..
