What Guests Are Saying
Sheridan Campground is a small, well-maintained site that offers a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery, particularly near the creek. Visitors appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities and the presence of wildlife, noting it as an ideal spot for family gatherings and exploration of the nearby Beartooth Highway. While the campground is slightly tricky to access and the reservation app can be frustrating, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Quiet and pleasant. I was concerned that I’d hear the highway but it was rare that highway noise cut through the creek in May. I had the whole campground to myself for one day, but even when others arrived there was a sense of privacy.

The road in is in rough condition. No road signs to help you know where to turn off the main road, and it looks like you are driving onto private property.
The campsite didn't have a tent location, and the area to put a tent has a bunch of Thistle growing in it.
The camp host is located at a nearby camp ground, and is very kind and helpful.

Nice place, but: never saw a host and couldn’t find one when I wanted to report a theft of a cordless drill and accessories from my camp. Seems the Montana campers next to us just couldn’t leave other people’s stuff alone. There was also a lot of pipe crud in the drinking water. We will not stay there again.

We usually love Sheridan campground. But with the mess from trees down all over campground, it's difficult to turn around and we have a smaller trailer. Also no place to take trash, if your there for more than 1 night your trailer/car starts to stink of food, diapers, etc. With the added protection of no campfires, it makes camping not so fun.

I also wish people would follow the rules, the couple next to us were smoking in their campsite. Last year we saw the camp host everyday and he was SO friendly, can't say the same for this years host. May have to find another place to take our grandchillins!

Decent campground with minimal amenities. Clean and well-stocked Pit toilets and water pump. Good flat sites, and bear-proof boxes at each site. No good way to clean the dishes, no trash containers.

A storm has ruined most of the campsites and made turn around impossible for anything but small car.
We didn't stay at this place because of it.
(Forest fire nearby caused disruptions to area as well.)
Overall our experience in the area couldn't have been worse. This site followed a campsite at Cascade that was unusable as well.
The only redeeming factors on our trip were the hosts at Basin Campground and Cascade whom went above and beyond to move us around to campsites with canceled reservations.
The saddest part was it was our last trip before my wife becomes too ill to travel.
I built the trailer for our "second honeymoon" and every site that I had reserved 6 months ahead of time was not usable.
The USFS is as slow to react as you would expect from a gov't agency that already has your money. My opinion of the local Forest Rangers is not very high tight now.
I will never use the reservation system in the park service again. You could do better on the side of the road.
They have ruined camping with their incompetence.
