Kimberly Creek Retreat

Came here for a night in February with 2 friends for a birthday celebration. We loved it. We stayed in the Bin. The Bin was cozy with 3 beds, a fireplace, lounge area and little tables where we played games. We utilized the hot tub and took a walk before sundown. Great view of the clear sky. Friendly staff and we had no issues. Definitely recommend this for a little getaway.

My wife and I stayed a night here for fun to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We stayed in the Queen Dome and were impressed with the amenities. The shower and bathroom was well done and the kitchenette had everything you needed. The grill was nice and clean and we cooked our own steaks on it. We enjoyed the gas fire pit as it was easy to use and really set the ambiance. We were impressed with the amount of trails and activities. These included: a clever escape room, scavenger hunts, and kids play areas. This is also a fantastic and beautiful location. It is a 20- 30 minute drive from the Omaha, far enough from the interstate to feel secluded but close to Round the Bend Steakhouse and the wonderful shops and restaurants of Ashland and Louisville. We will be back, and we think it would be fun for an extended family gathering.

My husband and I stayed in the Nook in January, and even though it was freezing cold outside we were toasty in our glamping pod. The place is in a beautiful cedar grove which isolates the cabins from each other for great privacy. The hot tub is legit, super relaxing. Little paths make a nice meander around the property and nearby Schramm and Mahoney were our choice for hikes during the day. We ordered the foil meals and egg casserole for breakfast and those were great, and added to the experience of feeling pampered. A very relaxing retreat!

Kimberly Creek Retreat is a slice of paradise. I have stayed in the Sanctuary, the Loft, the Fireside, and the Cranny at different times and in different seasons, and every trip has been wonderful.

The property is quiet and feels very much in a forest, even though the cabins are not far from each other. Hot tubs have been carefully placed to allow for privacy and a view of the trees. The cabins are well designed and practical. It's the little things that make KCR so memorable - for example, all the bathrooms are well-sized, there are indoor fireplaces or baseboard heaters to keep things warm and cozy, all the appliances are new, furniture can be easily reshuffled to accommodate more sleeping space or more living space. The activities (like the treasure hunt, or the playhouse) are great for a single evening or morning with children. The walking paths are easy to walk and well-marked. Firepits and grills are easy to use, and the hot tubs are divine.

I've even been in a situation where everyone in my house came down with a stomach bug right before our scheduled visit - we contacted the property and they generously allowed us to move our reservation so that we could all still come, despite it being last-minute. The managers are compassionate and easy to work with. The food options available are generously portioned.

I've been to visit with my spouse, with our kids, and by myself. The pricing is a little bit of a stretch on our budget, but it feels well worth it to save up for a little retreat into nature every six months or so.
