When we got to our campsite the grass was close to 2 ft tall and the bugs about carried you away. We never saw anyone from the Corp drive thru so we could express our opinion to them. If there's supposed to be anyone at the booth, there sure wasn't anyone there the whole time we were there. I've been camping at Methodist almost 50 years and things are worse now than they've ever been. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED !! If you want pictures of how bad the place looked, I have some!!

We were very disappointed in how tall the grass was for most of the time when we were there. When they did come to mow, they started at 7am right by our camper for about 10 minutes then went to an unoccupied area of the campground. We have always enjoyed Methodist campground.

No campground host available at all. The park looked terrible. It had just been mowed, but the mowed grass was piled up and a mess. The only good thing was the volunteer there did a very good job keeping the park picked up.

Clean bathroom facilities, however the grass had not been mowed for some time. Would recommend at least mowing the sites that are being paid for. This would maybe help with the bugs as well. Beautiful lake with lots of potential, would love to come back however the access to swimming or fishing areas without a boat is slim to none unless you are willing to pack up and drive to the opposite side of the lake from the campgrounds. I understand waters are low but things could be made better accessible with a little work.

Getting There
From U.S. Highway 80, take Highway 183 south to Alma, Nebraska. Turn left on South Street and travel 2.5 mi. The park entrance is on south side of the road.

General
- Only one camping unit allowed per site
- All campers must check in when arriving at park
- Maximum of six people allowed per site
- An attendant is on duty during the peak season of May through September
- Secure coolers and boating equipment each night to prevent thefts
- Off-road vehicles are not permitted
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
