Angel Creek (Humboldt-toiyabe National Forest, NV)

We got there on Sunday of Labor Day weekend and had reserved our favorite spot. When we arrived, there was someone in our campsite. The person in our site said he had already paid for 3 nights and wasn't moving. No camp host anywhere to be located and no campers had seen the host 'for days'.

The campground is very easy to get to. It had a camp host. The campsite had plenty of room for our truck and 20 foot trailer. The views from here are spectacular of the valley below and the road to the top is stunning.

I like the privacy of most of the camp sites.

Very quiet. camp host did not do his job. firepit was full. Bbq was full. Bathrooms were filthy. He would drive to bathrooms and sit in his Mule for 10 or so minutes and drive away.

Campground could use some updates and maintenance. The sites have foot-tall dried grass all around that would seem to be an unnecessary fire risk. Picnic tables are old wood with peeling paint. Ours (site 14) had axe marks all over one of the benches. Fire rings were good, but needed to be emptied of old ashes. Camp host was seldom around, and our when we arrived he had to be summoned because there was a walk-up camped in our friend's reserved site because it was not marked reserved. Sites are small, but pretty level. We saw a lot of bird-life - we put up a hummingbird feeder and it was swarming with them before we left. Saw a Western Tanager, Western Kingbirds, flocks of Nighthawks, several red-tails and kestrels. Even had two turkeys wander through. Despite the cons, it was a decent experience and the location is good if you don't want to take your trailer up the road to the lake where the sites are ridiculously small.

Great close in campsite. Although it’s easy to be close in yet in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. It was nice to see. They not only had a picnic table, but a barbecue and a fire pit.

This is a beautiful location and absolutely unexpected in this part of Nevada. We have enjoyed it in the past; it makes a great first night’s stop on a cross country road trip from California. On our most recent visit last week though, the outhouses did not seem to have been cleaned recently, and even more annoying, a neighboring campsite ran a generator ALL NIGHT. I was surprised the camp host didn’t do anything about this. We’re staying at Angel Creek again on our way home next week and I’m hoping we’ll get a better night’s sleep!
