What Guests Are Saying
Loon Lake Campground was once a cherished hidden gem but has seen a decline in quality since its acquisition by Modern America Campgrounds. Campers have reported issues such as unaddressed repairs, poor management communication, and inconsistent enforcement of rules. Despite these challenges, the location remains appealing, with potential for improvement if management addresses the concerns raised by visitors.

We started camping here when it was still owned by a person and not a corporation like it is now. It was a hidden gem and a very special place, but since it has been purchased by Modern America Campgrounds that is no longer the case. Campers whose seasonal sites were flooded the entire season were not given a break on their rates and were instead told if you don’t like it leave. Campers who complained about numerous pot holes were also told the same thing. Management has no issues referring to people as stupid, etc in group emails that all the campers receive. They will also talk negatively about other campers and their boss to you so I’m sure they will talk about you. They will berate those who don’t follow the rules, but then will also refuse to enforce them because it might impact their bottom line (as told to me by one of the local managers who used to be a used car salesman). The campground is in need of repairs with areas falling apart or simply not being addressed like the access gate that hasn’t worked in over a year. Some people will get charged for things that others don’t and again when the local manager is questioned about it you get told that he will do what he wants to. Most sites are 30amp and even all the 50amp sites won’t support two air conditioners running at the same time. Hopefully the dam to the lake gets fixed so that you won’t be able to walk across it like this year.

Our first seasonal site and we're so happy we chose this place. Doesn't have all the glitz and glamour of other places but it has turned into our 2nd home and family. We love this place!!

Lovely place. Visiting parents and they love it there. Peaceful. Quiet. Fun. Lots of opportunity for activities or to spend a quiet night around the fire. The lake is beautiful and campground is kept up nicely.

Our daughter Cassandra/Jeff got married there Aug.29,2020. What a beautiful place, perfect for their "special day". Owner Scott and Sharon were completely amazing and made this day so memorable. They are so easy to talk to and help with anything you need. Would definitely go back and would recommend Loon Lake to all.
Thanks again Scott & Sharon

What's not to love, beautiful scenery, wonderful neighbors and children playing in natures playground. I often sit on my deck and can hear their laughter rise to the sky from the beach as they splash around, or swim to the nearest Island tugging along a paddle board to explore the lake and land..making new friends along the way. They will pass by..two by two..headed to some great event their "summer camp director" aka..the camp owner has arranged; kids bingo, a fishing derby, and crazy beach relay just to name a few. We even had a carnival this year with lots of great games for children both young in age and young at heart to enjoy, from the sumo wrestling suits, to the bull riding and bouncy house, ring toss, and bean toss and much much more. This is summer number 5 for us..truly feeling blessed to have this bit of paradise, filled with my summer family to come to. 😍
