Winding River Campground

Nice family camp ground. Site was flat, deep, and easy to fit a 28' travel trailer. Jump blob is great! Pool is big and a nice area to hang out. Hot tub is good size and nice layout. Kids had a blast riding bikes all around. General store inside camp ground is convenient but slim pickings. They did have gems, rocks and fossils for purchase in a bag of sand- kids loved it (see pic). The store did have sliced cheese, which we forgot. The ice cream shop was also a hit with the kids and fair price. There was a drive in movie, Bingo, and live music. Overall great experience.

Unbelievable weekend. Staff extremely friendly and working hard to make sure the hundred plus people here are happy. Multiple food trucks, awesome band last night with a DJ coming tonight. Pools refreshing and crystal clear with it being packed due to the last three days being 100 plus degrees out. Basketball court, teen room they just created, and the activities are on point. I’ll post photos later but definitely a great job done by the management and workers.

It was a very nice camp ground,the trails were very peaceful and it was kept very clean. Every one there was very friendly, my children had fun and it was good family time. However, we were a bit disappointed i cant lie.. first, the restaurant that they advertise isn't even open yet wich really stunk because thats how I was planning on feeding my family for a few meals.. why advertise it on your website if it isnt even open? It would have been nice if they website was honest about that. Second, the bounce pillow that they talk about in all their commercials is down. My children were very excited for that and we didnt find out until we got there and went looking for it that was noticed it was down. Third, im not so sure whats up with the water but it smells like eggs... bad. I didnt even feel safe giving my children a bath while we were there because it stunk sooo bad. Fourth, I dont believe they do thorough wasp sprays because they were storming the cabin area, to the point were we had to rush in and out so we didnt let them in or get stung. Fifth, no activities for children were hosted like they talk about on the website...Dont get me wrong, it wasn't the worst of places, and we did enjoy it.I just don't understand why all these things were advertised , and yet they didn't happen.. I would be lying if I said we weren't let down a bit....

If you're looking for a campground that truly delivers on family fun, relaxation, and comfortable accommodations, Winding River Campground exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this campground is designed with families in mind. We stayed in Cabin C-5, which was clean, spacious, and surprisingly well-equipped. The cabin featured a full kitchen with modern cabinets, a refrigerator, microwave, dining area, comfortable sleeping arrangements, air conditioning, and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It provided all the comforts of home while still giving us the campground experience we were looking for.
What really stood out was the variety of activities available. The kids spent hours enjoying the pool, exploring the river, participating in the mining activity, and gathering around the campfire for marshmallow roasting. There was never a moment of boredom. The campground also has several unique touches, like the oversized Adirondack chair for family photos, which quickly became one of our favorite spots.
The wooded setting is beautiful and peaceful, providing plenty of shade and a true outdoors feel. Our cabin site offered a nice outdoor area with a fire pit, picnic table, and easy access to the river, making it perfect for spending evenings outside.
One of the best parts of the weekend was simply watching the kids disconnect from screens and spend their time swimming, exploring, laughing, playing, and making memories together. That's becoming harder to find these days, and Winding River provided exactly that kind of experience.

We came for a camping weekend and left with memories that will last much longer. Winding River Campground strikes a great balance between outdoor adventure and family comfort. It's easy to see why so many families return year after year, and we will definitely be among them.

Just finished my second stay this season tent camping at Winding river camp ground.
We stayed at the pop-up/tent site
Great place for kids to play. They have 2 parks, multiple bathroom facilities, golf cart rentals to make getting around the large property easy.
Tent sites offer electricity and water hook ups! The lower cost tent sites are grass!! The pop up tent sites are more like dirt and pine needles.
Over all good camp ground, they sell bundles of wood and offer simple essentials in their camp store.
Pool is good seems well maintained and the kids love the water slide!
8/10 will be back again hopefully before the end of the season!
