What Guests Are Saying

Storr’s Pond Recreation Area offers a charming camping experience with secluded sites and a variety of amenities, including a splash pad, pool, and disc golf. However, potential campers should be cautious about site lengths and access, as some areas may be challenging for larger RVs. While the rental pavilions are well-equipped, the cooking facilities need improvement, so it's advisable to bring your own grill if planning to cook for a group.

This was a great little campground, but be aware of the site lengths, know your confidence in backing and review pictures closely.

We were in site #1, which stated that it was for a 40’ rig and in my opinion, there’s no way that it could happen, even with the most confident RVer. The length of a 40’ RV, assuming it was high off of the ground (most aren’t), would be a nightmare in this site. You have an extremely steep road that you are driving down and back off of, cars flying around the corner and then washed out gravel that causes it to teeter totter to both sides, to the extreme. The other 40’ sites are different but appeared that there would be some trees and angles to watch out for.

We put our 36’ RV in site 1 (slightly separate from the rest of the campground). The large dips and slant of the road, caused us to scrape the bed of our truck as it twisted at different angles. We didn’t have severe damage, but we also have a lot more clearance than a lot of people AND we are up off of the ground quite a bit. I think if you have an RV low to the ground, a drop-frame, or anything larger than ours, you may end up with damage. While the site was tricky to get in and out, as well as the campground road itself, some fill dirt and gravel in the front of site 1 would help significantly. We noticed that some of the other 40’ sites looked a bit tricky as well, but a bit more doable. They do have some 50’ open sites that would be a breeze (site 9 maybe?).

That said, site #1 was AWESOME once we were in. It was secluded with a stream running through it. We used the road TO the rest of the camogrpund to back in and then drove down and around the campground, to get out. Pulling straight out was not an option.

If you can camp at this park, you will likely have a great experience! Just do your research and know your equipment and skill level.

This place has a lot of cool stuff, a splash pad, pool, disc golf, a pond, tennis. However if you rent a pavilion or group area they have completely neglected their cooking areas. We had to "borrow" a grate from a nearby grill area to even use the one we are supposed to use. The grill is canted hard to one corner, the grilling surface is bent and not adjustable, and the charcoal area is more hole than surface as the pictures can attest The party tent and tables were awesome, but if you can't actually cook for the capacity what's the point?
If you rent this space bring your own grill.

This place offers a lot. Has a challenging disc golf course. Make sure your up for hiking if your disc golfing. Amazing views and located beautiful Hanover. Bring back pack and lots of water. Not good for carts.
It has a small rope challenge course in the woods and balance beams. It has campsites and a small clean beach. It also has a ski jump I am assuming for the winter. It has a pool and bathrooms and tennis courts. It would be a cool place to camp at for sure.

While my family and I have not yet used the facilities and amenities of what looks like a great recreation area, we are planning to as the season starts. Between the pond swimming, fishing, boating, tennis, camping, hiking, mountain biking and outdoor pool activities there will be lots of outdoor fun, I hope!
