I would highly recommend Otter Brook to families and companies. It's easy to get to, the shelters and grills and restrooms are well maintained and clean. Plenty of room at all of the sites to play games and lots of parking. It's a good place for kids to run without parents having to worry too much.
There are always park rangers driving by so if there is anything wrong they are there to assist. We have used this park for the past few years for our department picnic and will keep coming back.

I have rented a pavilion a number of times. The facility is always well.maintained, clean and the staff are wonderful. The volunteers as well as the park rangers are friendly and helpful.

The weather was great, the small Pavillion had the best view in my opinion and everything was well maintained. Saw the Park Rangers drive by often making sure everything was as it should be.

The rangers were kind as booking confirmation shown end time as 8 PM but we came to know the park closes at 7 PM. It got delayed to vacate the place but the rangers were patiently waiting for us. Awesome People!!!!

Policies & Rules
General
- Otter Brook Recreation Area will be walk-in only (entrance gate on Route 9 will be closed) for the 2025 recreation season. There will be no restroom facilities, or shelter reservations. People are still welcome to walk/hike, bike, picnic, utilize the disc golf course and enjoy the grounds and nature. Dogs are permitted on leash.
- Otter Brook Lake Recreation Area no longer offers a beach. The beach is permanently closed and water quality will not be tested. Visitors utilizing the lake for water based activities shall do so at their own risk. Visitors wishing to reserve shelters with a beach area should reserve at Surry Mountain Lake in Surry, New Hampshire at Surry Mountain Lake Recreation.gov
- Otter Brook Lake is a day-use area. NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING
- Carry in, carry out trash.
- There are no life guards; it is a swim at your own risk facility.
- Motorboats are allowed (no wake).
- Otter Brook is a flood control facility and the park may be flooded during severe storm events.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Pets are allowed on a leash in the recreation area.
- No commercial activities, sales or solicitation of business on USACE land.
- Shelter reservations and or group events that bring in hired food trucks or vendors, large event tents (greater than 12’x12’), bounce houses, and any other atypical items are required to apply for a special use permit by calling the main office at 603-352-4130. Please inquire if you are unsure.
