My son and I went hiking here while visiting New Hampshire on September 24th. It was beautiful with the leaves changing and the amazing views from the fire tower. The park ranger lady that was there was so friendly and helpful. I will come back there everytime I visit the beautiful state of New Hampshire

Stayed on a platform tent site with kids and dog. Super nice and informative rangers. Beautiful scenery all around. Didn’t realize that you’re essentially staying amidst Nordic ski trails which made me want to come back in the winter. Stargazing and sunsets at the fire tower are a highlight for sure with the kids. The tower is also in the middle of a field - great for frisbee etc.

We booked Yurt 4 after seeing great things mentioned about it. It did not disappoint!! Friendly staff at check in. Super clean lodging, grounds, and composting toilet. Beds in the Yurt were not the most comfortable but everything else about this experience far outweighed that minor challenge!!! We highly recommend and we’d definitely consider another stay. Please check out our video on our experience on Hammocks to Coasters on YouTube.

We stayed for one night in Yurt 2 with our two dogs in early/mid October during weeknights. With only a handful of campsites and only a few other campers that I don’t think we saw but once during our visit, it felt as if we were entirely alone in the woods up in the mountains during peak foliage and as casual campers, it was a little intimidating to us yet absolutely beautiful.
As someone who grew up camping typically In more mainstream campsites, I cannot begin to explain how secluded, DARK and QUIET this place is but in such an incredible and beautiful way. The silence at night was almost deafening and it felt as though we had the entire park to ourselves. This is about as close as you can get to feeling like you’re camping back country while staying in a state park campground. The peak autumn foliage, amazing fire-tower 360, the dark skies with so many stars visible, and the seclusion in the woods made for one of the best escapes to nature I’ve ever had.
Our Yurt had a short uphill pathway from our parking spot and it felt nice and tucked away into the woods yet still easy to get to and relatively close to our car which we could see from our site. We really loved the sites. Even the tent sites seemed very nice as they each had their own platform. A thing to note is the yurts can still get cold for those that have never stayed in them, especially with air between your floor and the ground (about a few feet up.) Bring a high quality sleeping bag and extra blankets in the fall. We were so happy when it started raining overnight and we were warm in dry In our sleeping bags rather than a small tent. Cell service was surprisingly the best we had during our 1 week trip to NH.
Pros: Beautiful, isolated, quiet, incredible campsites, privacy, friendly rangers, firewood available, incredible views from fire tower.
Cons: No showers or full service bathrooms (though campers have free access to showers nearby and compostable outhouse toilets are located near the campsites. Potable water also on site.)

LOVED staying here to camp in the yurt. It was a very comfortable way to do camping and we stayed dry during the storm. The fire tower was the perfect place to see the sunset every night! The staff was helpful and recommended great hikes to do. The toilets are compostable and don't smell at all, but there are no sinks and no showers, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. The toilets are very clean though! There were a lot of mosquitoes in the middle of August.
